The Monte Carlo region

Monaco is a small independent nation bordered by France and the Mediterranean Sea. Its main municipalities are Monaco, which constitutes the old city on a rocky promontory extending into the Mediterranean, and Monte-Carlo, a residential area which is famous for its casino.

Places to visit are:
In Monaco-Ville: the Prince’s Palace, the Place du Palais, the Oceanographic Museum and Aquarium, the Napoleonic Mementos Museum, the Old Monaco Museum.

In Monte-Carlo: the Casino and its terrace, the National Museum of Clockwork Figures and Old Dolls, the Japanese Garden, the animal park, the exhibition of vintage cars belonging to His Serene Highness the Prince of Monaco.

Central Monte Carlo / Beausoleil area

Beausoleil buzzes with activity the whole year round reflecting the fast pace of the Principality of Monaco's numerous cultural and sporting events: the Grand Prix, Circus festival or open tennis tournament. The "Palais Joséphine" Apartment Residence is situated in the lively Beausoleil quarter.

How to get there

By road:
From Paris (950 km): A6 motorway to Lyon, then the A7 and A8 "La Provençale", taking the "Monaco / Cap-d'Ail" exit to Menton. On the "Moyenne Corniche", take the Boulevard de La Turbie to the church ("église") and town hall ("mairie"). Carry on straight ahead on the Boulevard de la République then "Camille Blanc". Turn left onto the Boulevard de France/du Gal Leclerc, where you will find the "Belle Epoque" car park.

From Italy: Take the Monaco exit on the "Moyenne Corniche", then turn left at the traffic lights to "Beausoleil Centre" via the Boulevard de La Turbie going to the church ("église") and town hall ("mairie"). Carry on straight ahead on the Boulevard de la République then "Camille Blanc". Turn left onto the Boulevard de France/du Gal Leclerc, where you will find the "Belle Epoque" car park.
