Lovely Practical Family Flat, Sleeps 6
Apartment | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
Just one of many reviews published on another popular website that i advertise on:
Katy G. and family from USA stayed August 2014:
"This is a charming house - multi-level, comfortable, lots of art and books, well- appointed kitchen, roomy. We (family of four and toddler) all had space and could eat together and cook - it's a great location. We loved having a Tesco so close-by, and got good at walking (or taking the bus quickly) to White City tube stop - and then central London just a few stops away. The best thing about this house is Saskia (well, Angela also). They are warm and welcoming - lots of helpful information (and helped me realize I could easily order a stroller by "click and pick up" from Tesco), so easy to deal with (always answer emails, deposit returned promptly) - the things that make renting either a pain or a pleasure (the latter in this case). Saskia went above and beyond and left us a few most cherished toys for the 2 1/2 year old, helped us locate the nearby and very good park, and answered any questions. It was really like having a "London house" of our own for a week.
MY FLAT AND HOME:
Lovely, comfortable, cosy, clean, first floor flat in RBKC, North Kensington, zone 2.
3 Bedrooms, sleeps 6, location near to the BBC. Quiet road, parks and transport on your door step. White City tube 15 minutes slow walk or take the bus, 2 stops. No 7 Bus stops at the top of our short road and goes into the West End. The 52 goes to Knightsbridge.
Ideal for families, friends, young and old and business people who don't want to stay in the noisy and often polluted central city. Transport excellent for getting to all tourist attractions with bus or tube.
Tastefully decorated, practical kitchen with dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, food mixer, large fridge and freezer. Washing machine and dryer. Little west facing balcony out from kitchen. Wall to wall light wool carpet. Original wooden sash windows. Working gas fire in living room. Huge library of books and novels. Cotton linen and towels, soap, toothpaste, showergell provided.
Bracewell Road, W10 is a quiet, safe, tree lined street with two beautiful parks right on our doorstep.
Everything is close by, the No 7 bus at the top of our road goes to Portobello Market, Oxford street and West End. The No 70 goes to Queensway and Hyde Park, or change onto the No 52 at Ladbroke Grove for Harrods and Knightsbridge. The underground (2 different ones, 2 different lines) is 12 minutes walk. Westfield White City is the biggest shopping centre in Europe with an excellent selection of boutiques, restaurants and cinemas, and only 15 minutes walk or 2 stops on the bus. (I suggest when you arrive at my house you obtain from the little shops at the top of my road, an Oyster Card. A top-up travel card costing £5 for use on the tube and buses. Redeemable at the end of your stay)
A small supermarket (Tesco) is at the top of our road and sells the essentials. Open 7 days, 6am to 11pm daily. And a traditional English pub The Pavilion is 5 minutes walk. There is a Thai restaurant really close by with delicious food, great takeaway too. And of course, Portobello Market has many lovely places to eat and drink.
Parking is not permitted outside our house but there are meters at the top of the road, and a free parking road not far but it's usually very hard to get a space. Free parking Monday to Friday is from 18.30 to 8am and on Saturdays from 13.30 and all day Sunday.
My grown up daughter Saskia will welcome you with keys etc on check-in. Saskia lives in our flat on the ground floor and is always helpful and available. The flats are completely separate to each other.
If you need a good reliable cab company to collect you from Heathrow or any of the other London airports, try 'Just Airports' based in Wembley.
Check-in from 16:00
Checkout by 11:00 please
MAXIMUM 6 people
No smoking in the house (just out on the balcony)
Damage deposit £250 cash on arrival
*Please leave £40 for Annie the cleaner on departure

Many thanks and questions welcome

We thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful week in London and in this charming and welcoming flat in Notting Hill! My husband, our two teens of 15 and 16, and I explored the city from Belgravia to the East End and many places in between. We loved the vivacity and diversity of this colourful city. After a day of exploration, we enjoyed returning to our flat in the tranquil, residential, and green Notting Hill neighbourhood which had quickly become our home away from home. The apartment has everything we needed and could wish for: space, lots of light, tastefully furnished and comfortable rooms, as well as an equipped kitchen, plus a little terrace with lots of plants. The house is a hop and a skip on the bus (no. 7) to Portobello Road Markets. Take that bus to the end of the line: it is interesting sightseeing, and you end up on Oxford Street, the middle of London shopping. We were also delighted to find a small Ottolenghi Café and Take Away near the flat, close to Portobello Road. I had been cooking from Ottolenghi's delicious cookbooks for the past year. Highly recommendable! We also suggest a meal at Pavilion, the local pub. The kids asked me to write that they loved the apartment (and especially the fact that they each had a TV in their bedrooms - which they don't at home) as well as the city with its people and its mix of the old and new. Last but not least, we very much enjoyed the warm welcome and the helpful recommendations Saskia gave us, as well as our meeting with Angela at the end of our stay. Thank you to both of you! We highly recommend staying at this charming flat and we hope to return there on our next trip to London.
Warm regards, Christine & family, Wolfsburg, Germany

The South East England region
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is immediately to the west of the City of Westminster, which is at the heart of modern London, and to the east of Hammersmith & Fulham, and contains a substantial number of city-centre facilities such as major museums and universities (in "Albertopolis"); department stores like Harrods, Peter Jones and Harvey Nichols; is home to the Notting Hill Carnival, Europe's largest carnival; and several Embassies in Belgravia, Knightsbridge and Kensington Gardens. It contains many of the most exclusive residential districts in London, which are also some of the most expensive in the world and of course, Kensington Palace. Look at on the web for 'Attractions in RBKC', i like the website Londonist dot com and look at Wikipedia's description of Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea
Central London/Zone 2
Our area is close to two beautiful parks, friendly with grocery shops and a pub and not far from Ladbroke Grove, a short bus ride from our house.
And Notting Hill, a bit further away, is a popular destination for its lively market, gorgeous streetscapes, interesting history and diverse population. It has achieved a level of fame from the film Notting Hill with Hugh Grant (and yes, he actually does live here!), the world famous Portobello Road market and of course from the annual carnival.
Friendly atmosphere, great transport right from our door. Shops all around.

"Very nice house with everything needed for a convenient stay"
I stayed with my family (2 young kids) and parents for 5 days. The owners daughter who does the handover and handles any subsequent requirements was very helpful and friendly. The property consists of the top 2 stories of a large house and had plenty of room for our family of 4 adults and 2 kids. The house is very well furnished and really includes everything you could need for a holiday.
The location is pleasant with two large parks nearby and a few local shops within 100m's. There are a huge amount of shops/supermarkets etc within 5 mins bus or 10 mins walk at White City Westfield. Transport links are decent with some bus's going into the city centre and plenty to the nearest tube stops which are again about 5 mins ride away. We caught the bus from the end of the road directly into South Kensington for the museums which was very convenient and also caught bus's from Oxford Street straight to the end of the road.
I'd happily recommend the property and the landlords.
Thank you so much for looking after my flat so nicely and maybe our paths will cross again in the future.
Angela and Saskia
