Visiting London? Stay in Clapham. Close to central London with excellent (24 hour) public transport links but with its own community. Clapham High Street provides a large choice of restaurants and bars (including three gay bars) and is a very popular location for a night out. But it provides a welcome escape from the centre of town.

Victorian one bedroom Flat just 5 minutes off Clapham High St in a quiet residential street. One double bedroom with king size bed, lounge with 3 seaters sofa, TV and stereo, large and airy kitchen diner with table and modern bathroom (shower room). Fully equipped with modern and new appliances washing machine and dishwasher, microwave and oven. Outdoor balcony with coffee table and two seats.

Located 500 metres from Clapham High Street and Clapham Village with its large choice of bars, pubs and restaurants, cinema centre, shops, gym and sports centre, brand new public library and coffee shops, pedestrianised areas with local weekend farmers markets and independent shops. Selection of many food stores, from small and quirky independent groceries and large scale supermarket Sainsbury with everything available.

5 minutes walk to Clapham North Tube (Northern Line - 20 mins. to Leicester Sq. published journey time), Clapham High Street (over ground - 8 minutes to Victoria) and many night buses to/from central London.

10 minutes walk to Clapham Village and Clapham Common park. Many buses run along clapham high street all day and night to and from central London and many other directions.

Flat is my home, and when rented out full use of the property is available with the exception of the second bedroom, which is used for storage. Flat is first floor in a building of six flats - access via one flight of stairs. It is in a cosy, quiet neighbourhood, safe and residential but few minutes walk away from buzzling high street.

Check in time is negotiable. During the week before 6 pm keys need to be collected by guest after midday unless the prperty os vacant in which case keys can be collected earlier. After 6 or at weekends host will meet guest at property after midday unless it is vacant in which case earlier is possible.

"Just as advertised-- a comfy flat with good nearby underground and bus service."

We liked having extra room for less money than we would have spent on a small hotel room. It was nice having the fridge for breakfast OJ and milk, but we didn't use any of the other appliances as… More

"Nice Location but unpleasant stay"

This accommodation is a very nice flat which is conveniently located. However the apartment had very noisy neighbours with music being played until late every night. We also had different neighbours complain about the noise level from the previous occupants who stayed in the flat Saturday night.

That was not the end of the hassle. Once we left the apartment the landlord cut our deposit for damages which I strongly believe was previously caused.

I would advise guests to ask the landlord for an inventory of the flat and check to see if anything is damaged prior to moving so your deposit is safe!

This was a very difficult customer. And my first with Holiday Lettings, guests from other sources have caused much less challenges.

The guest would not commit until the last minute making arrangements very difficult. The host made significant changes to the letting process to assist this guests demand. The apartment was fully checked prior to guests taking up residence. During the stay the door to the washing machine was broken. When asked what had happened the guest immediately blamed the cleaner. Unfortunately the cleaner had not visited and the only the guest and her family had access to the property between the two inspections by the owner. There was clear evidence that the guests had been around the area of the washing machine. The guests also saw fit to turn off the gas boiler at the mains. This was not an easy task to accomplish and no previous guest has ever achieved this.

No issue was made about any noise until the damage was raised. At this point it was highlighted that a neighbour had complained about a previous guest. The complaint about loud music every night was not raised with the host (and appears for the first time in this review) and no other guest has ever suggested that this is the case. Indeed the host uses the flat as his home and has never experienced this and a number of returning customers suggest that this guest's perspective is mistaken.
