Local business consists of speciality shops, eateries and gastropubs, with the Olympia Exhibition Centre nearby. Indeed, it is the mix of local shops that give the area its character.
West Kensington is within easy reach of Earl's Court, and the Broadways of Fulham, Hammersmith and Notting Hill.
There are several pubs and hotels, including The Albion public house which is reputedly haunted. The Baron's Court Theatre is also located in basement of "The Curtains Up" bar and restaurant.
The Carnival Store is a famous fancy dress and costume shop located in the same premises on Hammersmith Road and family owned for the past 40 years.
Olympia is an exhibition centre and conference centre in West Kensington. It opened in the 19th century and was originally known as the National Agricultural Hall. It now features three exhibition halls known as Olympia Grand, Olympia National, and Olympia Central. Alongside Earls Court, Olympia London has inspiring spaces that hosted many great exhibitions and events.
Wimbledon, Richmond, Wealthy suburbs

"Comfortable and clean and very near tube - a welcoming atmosphere"
Effective central heating, plentiful hot water and good water pressure.
Provision of magazines, fruit and breakfast materials a welcoming touch.
Very close to West Kensington tube and only a 10-minute walk to Olympia where there are many bus routes to take to eg Trafalgar Sq, Covent Gdn, Knightsbridge etc.
Tesco Metro, Sainsbury Local, Co-op all close at hand so buying groceries is very easy and there's a Whole Foods at Ken High St.
West Kensington is not really an area for eating out but plenty of places within a few tube stops.
