The flat is located in a leafy part of Maida Vale which was developed by the Victorians in the early 1870s, and is a ten/fifteen minutes walk from Westbourne Park and Maida Vale and Warwick Avenue and Royal Oak tube/train stations, and there are good bus connections too, giving access to London's excellent transport network. The area has good eateries, cafes and bars in the neighbourhood.

Nearby you must walk along the Grand Union Canal at the Harrow Road and walk along through to Little Venice and beyond to Regents Park; you have the very famous Portobello Road Market on Saturdays famous for its antiques and bric-a-brac, vintage clothing section, and hot food stalls and leads into the Golborne Road Market which has a high concentration of Caribbean, North African, and Portuguese eateries. Golborne Road Market is also a daily fresh fruit and vegetable market. The Electric Cinema on Portobello road boasts to being the oldest purpose built cinema in Britain (1911). The local neighbourhood has a wide variety of cafés, restaurants, pubs and shops.
