NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM Following the National Maritime Museum's £20 million facelift, the 19th century Neptune courtyard has been covered over by a glass roof. The revamped museum is bright, airy and the whistling wind and fresh air make you feel like you're on deck. The various exhibitions in the galleys/galleries offer an interactive experience with heaving open hatchway doors, turning the ship's wheel and using Viking oars. Check out ancient uniforms, follow Admiral Nelson's sea-faring career, watch archive material of passenger ocean travel, discover what life was like in Britain's maritime heyday, and get involved in the All Hands exhibition. Wind down in the lush Global Garden - the glorious result of exotic seeds brought back by sailors. Admission is free.
ROYAL NAVAL COLLEGE Designed by Christopher Wren, this building was founded by William III as a hospital for the Royal Navy. The Painted Hall, decorated in the 18th century by James Thornhill, is particularly worth a visit. The grounds also include the Chapel of St. Peter and St. Paul in Queen Mary Court, its Rococo style restored in 1980. The Royal Naval College is found alongside the River Thames, within a few minutes walk of the picturesque Queen's house. One-hour guided tours are available for GBP5, GBP4 concessions.
CUTTY SARK The Cutty Sark is the last surviving tall ship left in the world. Designed by Hercules Linton, the Cutty Sark was renowned throughout the seafaring world as one of the fastest ships of the period. After a colourful career, she was moved to a dry dock in Greenwich in December 1954. Officially opened in 1957 by Her Majesty the Queen, she's been visited by over 13 million people since. The number of 'the old lady's' admirers are bound to increase, as she remains a living testimony to a glorious bygone era of sail and Empire.

How to get there
It is easy. We are in Central London Zone 2. Cutty Sark DLR and Greenwich North Jubilee Line.
RECOMMENDATION Now in the business for 2 years and having seen hundreds of families come through exhausted after long trips, we feel that getting a minicab from the airport direct to the apartment is by far the most hassle free and often for large parties the cheapest ALL-IN cost especially as arrangements can be made for the driver to meet you with the apartment keys for that late or really early morning arrival. From our area the most reliable service is provided by the Sat-in-Car service a specialist in Airport to Destination Conveyancing. Their contact details:-
Sat-In-Car Contact:- Robert Telephone:- +44 7710 593776 e-mail:- sat-incar-s@ntlworld.com
Please ask him for the latest door to door rates but be aware of the below. Details from Robert
CAR PARKING There is also the car parking at Stansted (and all airports). It's between £3 to £5 but can be more if guests take a long time coming through immigration, passport control and baggage collection.
If customers have a mobile (and speaks English) Sat-In-Car are more than happy to meet them outside the airports and therefore not pass on any car parking charges. This means the driver can simply 'pull up' outside the terminal building and meet them in the pick up/drop off area. If passengers can provide mobile numbers they can e-mail them to Sat-In-Car and and Sat-In-Car will then text the Guest the drivers name and mobile number in order for them to call the driver once they have there luggage and are on their way out.
WAITING TIME Unlike other companies Sat-in-Car only charge waiting time 60 minutes after the passenger(s) have landed. Then its £20 per hour or part thereof.
SIZE OF VEHICLE Sat-In-Car need to know, in advance, number of passengers travelling. 1-2 normally means a standard car. 3-4 probably require an estate vehicle (additional £10.00) and 5-6 would need an MPV (people carrier) and possibly a MPV plus trailer.
KEY OR TO OFFICE SERVICE A Driver can meet you with the key or if you have not paid all of the rent, (£5) arrange for an office pass by while you pay and pick up keys (£10).
