The South East England / Greater London region
The house is situated in Historic Greenwich where there are many tourist attractions e.g. Maritime Museum, The Royal Observatory, Royal Naval College Greenwich Park and The Cutty Sark to name but a few. Many pubs and restaurants are within easy reach as well as the markets which sell antiques, second-hand clothes and lots more. There is a river bus which travels along the Thames from Greenwich Pier to the Tower of London and Westminster. 20 minutes from the centre of London via British Rail, 2 trains per hour, or Docklands Light Railway, trains every 5 minutes. Near to London City Airport for European flight connections.
Central London/Zone 2 / West Greenwich area
Places to visit include also, the Painted Hall & Chapel of the old Royal Naval College, now Greenwich University. Other historical sites include, the Fan Museum, Rangers House, and St Alfege's Church.
The London Marathon starts in Greenwich. The Tour de France will be coming through Greenwich this year, 2007. The summer Jazz festival in Greenwich is great fun.
I recommend Oliver's Jazz bar in Nevada Street, open 7 nights a week all year. Rivington's restaurant & bar open all day, (part of the Caprice & Ivy restaurant group). For homemade ice creams, the lovely Buenos Aires Cafe in Royal Hill. All my recommendations offer Greenwich Holiday Lets clients a 10% discount.
How to get there
Best Airport for budget airlines with easy access to Greenwich are, London Cityy Airport, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted, (about 40 minutes by train to Greenwich). Thanks dawn, Great place. We have been very comfortable here. Had a wedding to go to at Queen's House so location was great. A very well equipped house, comfortable beds. Everything we could need. Thanks. Vicki, Jan, Lucas, Beth & Ben, Amsterdam, 4th May 2007.
We had a wonderful stay here also due to this charming house and the great host Dawn! Jan 2007. Gunte Fei, Berlin.
Very good house for getting into Central London. Local facilities execellent. Good location for travelling to David Beckham Academy. Caroline Curtis, Coventry, March 2007.
