The South East England / London region

The attractions of London are too numerous to mention but all are easily accessed from this charming flat.
Having lived in the area for 15 years the owners have a wealth of knowledge not only of the famous London attractions but also lesser known local's favourites and the many activities and sights of interest many within easy walking distance.
A couple of highlights include Colombia Road flower market and the wealth of small pub theatres with productions ranging from Fringe Comedy to Greek Tradgedy.
The Central London/Zone 2 / Highbury area
Highbury Barn:
Just steps from the front door, this is one of London’s quaintest “villages” the small parade of shops include Da Mario, a traditional Italian delicatessen, La Fromagerie, Godfrey’s English butchers and Mrs Lovell’s Greengrocers. The Beach Hut fish and chip shop brings a delicious taste of the seaside to central London in a wonderfully stylish setting. There is also a pharmacy/chemist, several cafés, a post office with ATM, supermarket and a traditional British pub serving real ales and good food. There are also a couple of good restaurants, Turkish Iznik and Mediterranean Stingray with several more within a 10 minute walk.
Upper Street:
A tranquil walk through Highbury fields brings you directly to Upper Street, Islington’s vibrant high street. Its lively thoroughfare boasts a wide selection of designer boutiques, great pubs and world class theatre including The Almeida, the King’s Head the only pub in the world with its own opera company and a fantastic selection of real ales in a magnificent traditional London pub. The range of restaurants is wide and international with chic eateries including Ottolenghi and Carluccio’s.
Highbury Fields:

Apartment second to none. Easily located, with excellent car parking facilities and 5 minutes walk to tube lines. Apartment set in quite, safe location - we had a hard job to recall that we were in the middle of the capital of UK. Looking out at chestnut trees and squirrels whilst eating breakfast seemed rather surreal! Ideal location for our family needs (two children under 8). Apartment well set out with all mod cons, very clean, comfy and surprisingly spacious for central London. Local shops, parks, restaurants and bars meant no need to take long trips to stock up/go out at evening. Helpful hand over of apartment with thorough details given on area, best tube lines, suggestions for our trip. London has something for everyone - our two children thought the parks, London eye and theater trip to Lion King were marvelous. Would highly recommend the apartment to family and friends - although rather reluctantly, as we would like to go back and have a feeling that it is going to get booked up quickly! |

We ended up staying here in Highbury, an unexpected area for us, and were delighted by the tranquility, convenience and vibe in this area. The apartment has been refurbished and well appointed. |

Having been to stay in the gorgeous Casal dei Fichi in Marche Italy, we were expecting high standards and we got them. Apartment is really delightful, beautifully furnished with great attention to detail and comfort; it is right in the middle of everything you need including public transport and some nice places to go for a drink and a bite to eat. Would definitely recommend it for a few nights in London - thanks Bob and Ian - once again you have given us a new place to hang out :-) |
