The South East England region

London is a vibrant, bustling city steeped in culture and history with many hidden treasures to discover. The list of things to do and places to see is endless. As the old saying goes ... ”if you are tired of London... you are tired of life!”

The city of London is home to Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, the gothic buildings of Westminster, Big Ben and St Paul's Cathedral... just a few of the landmark places of interest to visit. There are a wide array of free galleries and museums that are very easy to access using the great public transport networks including buses, tubes and London's Black cabs. Why not try visiting the Tate Gallery then taking a taxi boat along the river Thames, past the Houses of Parliament to visit Tate Modern on the South bank where there are a wealth of restaurants, cafes, market stalls and street performers as well as the London Eye and London Aquarium.

The Shopping in London is second to none. Whether you want to shop for luxury goods at Selfridges or Harrods, hit the high street shops of Oxford Street, the vintage shops at Covent Garden (seven dials) or explore the stalls of Brick lane, Camden and Borough markets, it is all at your door step.

The West End is home to some of the world's greatest theatres with Soho, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus and China town all in walking distance. Perfect for a night out to catch a show and dine in one of the numerous top class restaurants on offer, from Michelin starred to one of the local gems, followed by a visit to one of the many bars or clubs to experience what London's night life has to offer.

Central London/Zone 2

This prestigious area is home to many of London's Museums with the Natural History Museum, Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum all in close proximity to each other. Close by you will also find the Royal College of Music, Imperial College London and The Royal Albert Hall.

The Royal Albert Hall hosts many large music events but, also plays live jazz in the evening in the Edgar Room where you can enjoy supper or listen to music in Café Consort while enjoying tea or coffee. Chelsea's own Royal Court Theatre can be found in Sloane Square and is Britain's leading national company dedicated to new work by innovative writers from the UK and around the world.

West Kensington can also offer a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city with access to its green areas and parks, the beautiful Hyde Park, Green Park and Buckingham Palace Gardens are all in the vicinity and Battersea Park is just the other side of the river with boating, café and beautiful walks.

Shopping can be found at Harrods, Selfridges, Fortnum and Mason and the charming shops of Jermyn Street with Sheppard's Market and its quaint restaurants and bars close by. Also at your disposal are the many shops, restaurants, cafes and bars of the fashionable Kings Road and Portobello market in Notting Hill. West Kensington has a wide array of dining experiences on offer and is home to Michelin starred restaurants such as Gordon Ramsay on Royal Hospital Road, SW3 and Daphne's on Draycott Avenue, SW3.

"Great London Flat"

My wife and I stayed for three weeks in this flat in Sheperds Bush, London. It was close to our daughter and worked out very well. It was clean, well maintained, and modern. I was concerned about wifi and the wifi worked very well. It has facilities for cooking and is in a well maintained building. It is a 5 minute walk to the Olympia tube station and 15 min walk to the Sheperds Bush tube station so is an excellent location. Because it is in London the flat is small in terms of square footage. Every flat seems to be small! However, I would highly recommend it for one or two people. For more than two people it would be very uncomfortable. Having said that the bathroom is quite large and very good. The bed is a double bed and is wedged between two walls with a ladder to the loft at the foot of the bed. It was a comfortable bed but a bit difficult to get into. As Americans we were not as familiar with the peculiarities of European homes. We discovered the switches for the outlets and the faucets work a bit differently than in the U.S.. If you're an American and don't know make sure the management orients you to the flat.

"Compact, clean and comfortable"

This flat is wonderful. It is bright and quiet. I would only make one suggestion, put in a microwave.

Thank you for your positive review, and we shall certainly recommend to the owner that a microwave might be handy. Thank you for booking through M2 Property, and we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay.
