It is 5 minutes walk to the nearest tube station Island Gardens on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). This connects with the Jubilee Line which will take you to Westminster and the West End of London in 15-20 minutes.

Good local amenities with 2 restaurants and only a few stops to Canary Wharf with its excellent shopping centre and restaurants. You can walk to historic Greenwich using the nearby foot tunnel under the Thames !

There are 5 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms for guests. The top floor lounge with outside roof terrace has river views and it's own cocktail bar and fridge. The kitchen is fully equipped and ideal for for self catering.

The house is booked with a non-refundable £200 booking deposit with the balance paid before arrival. Payment can be made using Paypal or bank transfer.

There is a refundable security deposit charge, which is from £100 up to £300 depending on the number of people and length of stay. This is refunded back to you after the property has been checked following your stay.

"excellent place"

"How soon can we come back?"

If you are considering staying at the Docklands townhouse, I have only two words for you - "Do it!". We have just returned home from our stay at the townhouse and I cannot say enough good things about it. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the things our large group needed. The linens and other necessities were plentiful and spotless, with extra pillows and duvets in the closet if needed. Iron, ironing board, hangers, etc. We brought clothes and food - all else was there for us. Only one caution - the house is tall and has lots of stairs, so it is not accessible for those with mobility issues. Not a problem for us, but something for consideration.

I always take the reviews of "5 minutes to the tube" with a dose of skepticism, but it is absolutely true in this case. Even walking with kids to slow us down, we were 5 minutes to the Island Garden train station, 5 minutes to the Greenwich foot tunnel, 7 minutes along the Thames walkway down to Masthouse Terrace Pier for the ferry.

There is a small market right across from the Island Gardens station that carried all the essential bread, milk, eggs, even some fresh produce, and there are several large stores with more extensive selections close by. We tried 3 of the neighborhood restaurants within a 10 minute walk and enjoyed classic pub fare, really great Indian and Mediterranean (try the prawn risotto at the Old Fire House around the corner - you will thank me later).

Coming back to the house after a day of touring London, we loved our evenings up in the lounge. Mervyn has placed a small table and chairs out on the terrace, so we sat out in the cool air and watched the ferry boats go by on the Thames. If we come back to London, we will come right back here again! Many thanks!

"Super vacances à Londres"

Nous venons de passer une semaine géniale à visiter Londres. (4 adultes + 4 enfants de 3 à 15 ans).
La maison était bien située : bus au pied du logement, DLR (métro) à 5 minutes, supermarché proche : la voiture n'est pas nécessaire.
Le logement était dans une résidence privée avec gardien, parking pour la voiture.
Il est sur 4 niveaux : 5 grandes chambres lumineuses avec 1 lit double + 2 salles de bain + toilettes + cuisine + 1 grand salon avec 3 canapés et terrasse au dernier étage avec vue sur la Tamise. Tout était très propre, les draps et les serviettes fournis.
Bref, logement idéal pour passer de bonnes vacances. La cuisine était bien pour 8 personnes mais à mon avis , un peu juste pour 10.
Attention, si vous prenez l'oystercard pour vous déplacer, vous ne pouvez pas l'acheter à la station Islands Gardens mais à la station Canary wharf ( environ 3 kms) . Si vous venez en transport en commun, il vaut mieux l'acheter avant votre arrivée!
