Where do you start trying to describe London's attractions? The history, the famous locations and buildings, the hundreds of activities to do, the thousands of shows and events on offer...

Even the 'highlights' depend on what takes your fancy. If you're a 'first timer' to London, of course you must see the Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament and Big Ben), the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column, Downing Street, St Paul's, The Mall, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, Harrods, the British Museum...

A stone's throw from the leafy Clapham Common, Clapham South is part of the Borough of Wandsworth that is a residential area choice for young urban professionals. Three major supermarket chains exist amongst small cafes, bars and restaurants, including the Avalon pub across the street, which offers a large inviting rear beer garden.

For even a wider variety of amenities just walk 10 - 15 minutes in any direction and you'll find trendy Balham, upmarket Abbeville Village, the famous Northcote Road or buzzing cosmopolitan Clapham Common with it's cinema, nightlife and multitude of shops and restaurants.

"great apartment, furnished to a high standard"

I would recommend this very bright, light and spacious (for London standards) apartment to anyone coming to visit London. It has got everything you need and more, no cheap finishings, all good quality furnishings. I live in London myself and stayed here for a few weeks while moving. Clapham is conveniently located and has got a big park, shops and lots of restaurants and bars. The only down side of the apartment's central location is that its on a major road. The double glazed windows block out most of the sound but when having to open the windows on a warm day, it's noisy.

"A really well-appointed flat in a convenient location"

Staying here was a real pleasure. The flat itself is quite spacious and very clean. It is well-furnished throughout, including all the usual kitchen utensils, a washer/dryer, hairdryer etc so that everything you need is right there. The double bed is very comfortable. The flat is located on a busy street but the double-glazed windows mean there's no disturbance from the traffic outside. It's also within a minute's walk of the nearest Underground station, and there are plenty of supermarkets and pleasant restaurants nearby. Julie & Mike, our hosts, were very friendly and were happy to help whenever we needed anything. Our only gripe was that there was no Sky/cable TV as advertised, but this was a minor issue. Overall, we would highly recommend this holiday rental.

Thanks so much for your review. We started off with SKY television in two of the three units in White Hill House. The response to the provision of SKY has been wonderful; our guests love having SKY Movies and Sport, instead of just having FreeView channels on our HD TV's. So I'm pleased to say that all 3 units in White Hill House now have SKY HD.

"Luxury for the price"

Great apartment, just as described. Very clean and light, high end fittings. Just opposite clapham south tube station so great location. Small amount of street nose but not invasive.… More

Thanks for your comments; we're pleased that you appreciated the high quality and ideal location of White Hill House 3. White Hill House Apartments are on a main road and although there are new double-glazed windows, as you point out, there is some minimal street noise that can be heard. For those who sleep very lightly or who just prefer a more tranquil location, we'd perhaps suggest our Fernlea Garden 1 & Fernlea Garden 2 one bedroom apartments. They are also very well located - just a 2 minute walk to the Balham Tube and only 1 stop on the Tube from Clapham South. We look forward to seeing you again in the future!

"Excellent accomodation!"

White Hill House ticks all the boxes for me: conveniently located near the tube station and local amenities, excellent, modern and clean furnishing, the double bed and sofa bed were very comfortable and sufficient pillows, duvets and towels were provided. Even though it is situated along the high street, the double glazed windows meant that we were not at all disturbed by the traffic outside. The heating worked at all times and the Sky tv was great company when we did not feel like going out!

Something to point out, the stairs up to the flat are a little narrow and there are no lifts which might make it difficult for people with mobility problems to access it.

We cannot believe that it's been almost a year since you stayed with us the first time and that in just a few weeks you'll be staying with us again on your 3rd visit! Sky TV with Movies & Sport and immaculate 'home away from home' awaits you. See you again soon.
