In terms of communication, while Lewisham is close, most residents walk to Greenwich Train Station (regular services into Charing Cross (Trafalgar Square) and London Bridge in about 10-15 minutes. Greenwich Train Station is also a Dockland Light Rail (DLR) stop with a good service into Canary Wharf and Stratford (Olympic Village) beyond. Central Maritime Greenwich has a river taxi pier.

A walk down the road takes you to one of Londons most famous tourist attractions, the Cutty Sark. This is the last of the great Tea Clippers. It is located in a dry dock at the river's edge. Life on board during her voyages are well depicted in it.
Further up the road is the Greenwich Market. It won its Royal Charter in 1700 and specialises in antique, collectables arts and crafts (Thur-Sun).
Five minutes walk away from the apartment is the World heritage site, the Maritime Museum (with over two million objects relating to seafaring) and The Royal Observatory Greenwich founded in 1675 by Charles II to find out the 'so much desired longitude of places for perfecting the art of navigation' It is home to the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and Meridian Line. The Museum is a top Tourist attraction all year round.
The Greenwich Penninsula, also has a popular multiscreen cinema complex and restaurants.
One of the most popular parks in London the Greenwich Royal Park is a few minutes walk away. Blackheath Park is a also walking distance away - Range of Children and adult activities, including funfair/ theme park activities and Circus shows, run at the Historic Blackheath Park most holiday periods and some weekends.
