In terms of communication, while Lewisham is close, most residents walk to Greenwich Train Station (regular services into Charing Cross (Trafalgar Square) and London Bridge in about 10-15 minutes. Greenwich Train Station is also a Dockland Light Rail (DLR) stop with a good service into Canary Wharf and Stratford (Olympic Village) beyond. Central Maritime Greenwich has a river taxi pier.

A walk down the road takes you to one of Londons most famous tourist attractions, the Cutty Sark. This is the last of the great Tea Clippers. It is located in a dry dock at the river's edge. Life on board during her voyages are well depicted in it.

Further up the road is the Greenwich Market. It won its Royal Charter in 1700 and specialises in antique, collectables arts and crafts (Thur-Sun).

Five minutes walk away from the apartment is the World heritage site, the Maritime Museum (with over two million objects relating to seafaring) and The Royal Observatory Greenwich founded in 1675 by Charles II to find out the 'so much desired longitude of places for perfecting the art of navigation' It is home to the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and Meridian Line. The Museum is a top Tourist attraction all year round.

The Greenwich Penninsula, also has a popular multiscreen cinema complex and restaurants.

One of the most popular parks in London the Greenwich Royal Park is a few minutes walk away. Blackheath Park is a also walking distance away - Range of Children and adult activities, including funfair/ theme park activities and Circus shows, run at the Historic Blackheath Park most holiday periods and some weekends.

Local attractions include the Firepower (the Royal Artillery) museum, Greenwich Heritage centre,Greenwich Youth theatre and Woolwich Pier. Enjoy a walk or cycle along river Thames pathway extending southwards to the Millenium Dome and Woolwich and northwards to the Docklands and Central london. A three mile distance to the Thames barrier (a unique and incredible feat of engineering that stretches 1/3mile across the Thames River built in 1983 to stop the River Thames flooding). Its Thames learning centre has a range of games, learning activities and information explaining all about the Thames Barrier construction.

The Millenium Dome along the Thames path is the largest fabric structure in the world containing one million sq ft of fabric. It's roof covers 20acres and is strong enough to support the weight of a jumbo jet!

Other great attractions include The Gypsy Moth IV (in which Sir Francis Christopher sailed around the world between 1966 and 1967), The Old Royal Naval College, Eltham Palace and David Beckam football academy.

Royal Blackheath Golf club is 2 miles away and easily reached by road or rail. The club also boasts a museum.Thamesview Golf Centre in Thamesmead is 6miles away. It provides a pay and play Golf course and driving range, tuition and Golf shop

Learn to sail, row or canoe at local boat clubs. Trafalgar rowing centre (a walking distance from the apartment), Southmere boating centre and Greenwich yacht club are all nearby.

Range of Children and adult activities, including funfair/ Theme park activities and Circus shows, run at the Blackheath Park most holiday periods and weekends .

Find time for a local visit to the Trinity college of Music - this is a short walk from the apartment.

ExCeL London is six miles away. It is an international exhibition and conference centre which has plenty to fire your imagination.
