The South East England / Greater London region

South East England is jam-packed full of history and culture. There are national heritage sites such as Windsor Castle, Hampton Court. There is the Thames with a wide variety of journeys along its meandering course; within an hour's journey is Oxford, Stratford upon Avon, Brighton, to name a few. Although we don't have a Mediterranean climate, the weather is generally mild.
The Central London/Zone 1 / Chelsea, London area
Within a stone's thrown can be found bars and restaurants galore and a short journey brings you to prestige shopping (Harrod's, Regent Street, Piccadilly etc.), history (Buckingham Palace, House of Parliament, Museums and Art Galleries galore, Tower of London, London Eye ect ect). The King's Road became famous as the "in" place in the 60s with many pop starts and other celebrities making it their home, and has to this day retains its special character. Everywhich way are to be found historic buildings, museums and art galleries.
Easy access to the Royal Albert Hall boasting not only the big music events but enjoy live jazz in the evening while eating in the Edgar Room, or live music while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee at the Café Consort. Chelsea has its own Theatre (the Royal Court Theatre http://www.royalcourttheatre.com/whats-on/) and music hall (Cadogan Hall http://www.cadoganhall.com/alleventsresults.php ) at Sloane Square, let alone the score-plus theatres in the West End.
The West End of London, Soho and Bloomsbury boast 30 plus theatres so you could watch a new show every night for a month and still have some left over! There are music venues suited to every taste, street extravaganzas like the Notting Hill Carneval, regular highlights such as the Chelsea Flower Show and Wimbledon Lawn-Tennis Final and of course Chelsea Football fans will be delighted as the stadium is within easy walking distance - the list goes on and on. Access to all places is easy with the very comprehensive and regular London Transport bus and subway system - even better, walk!

On arrival in London, make your way to Sloane Square or South Kensington underground stations, and the property is a fifteen minute walk, bus-hop or taxi trip from either station.
As with all of central London, it is far easier to get about on public transport than a hire car as there is daily congestion charge and parking charges and Chelsea is wonderfully situated being so centrally located to all of the sights.
