The South East England / Greater London region

In the region of London, one of the biggest capitals in the world. London is rich in variety and has many things to offer. The central area and the most important sights, theatres and restaurants are within the London underground train Circle Line on the north bank of the River Thames. The trendy and tourist-ridden West End of London lies within the western portion of the loop and includes Soho, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and Regent Street. Those without local roots will find London surprisingly diverse, and besides English, around 200 different languages are spoken within its confines and all the major religions are represented. At times London can seem more like a country than a city.
The Central London/Zone 1 / Notting Hill area
Notting Hill is in the area of West London and is part of the borough of kensington and chelsea. It is well known for Portobello market and it's Carnival in the summer (last week-end in August). It is a great place to visit for its cafés, restaurants, market, boutiques and shops as well as pubs and bars. It is a very lively area and is one of the most popular places to be in when in London. It has so much to offer in entertainment whether you are looking for shopping, dining, film, drinking, clubbing or more. There is also Westbourne grove, two minutes from Portobello famous for its restaurants but moreover the boutiques it has. For the discerning shopper in search of the unique and the exclusive, Westbourne Grove is a must... However if you become tired from the city of London you are only 10 minutes walking distance from one of the most beautiful parks, Hyde park Corner where you can disconnect momentarily.
