Home description
Enjoy a romantic London getaway in one of the most beautiful London streets - quiet, tree-lined, white terraced Victorian London, all just a stone's throw from the great shopping of High Street Kensington or the more funky fashions and trends of Notting Hill and Portobello Road. If walks through gardens are your thing, Kensington Gardens (adjoining Hyde Park) are also just around the corner.
Should you choose to venture out, just a little further afield you will find yourself in up-market Knightsbridge (Harrods), Chelsea (King's Road), seeing a West-End theatre production, hitching a ride on the London Eye or visiting all the Westminster attractions (Big Ben, Westminster Abbey).
Ideal for both short and long business trips or indulgent leisure breaks, our central location is convenient for theatres, museums, shopping and the city business centre. Well placed for the transport network with quick links to London Heathrow, as well as the underground stations of Notting Hill Gate,Holland Park, Ladbroke Grove and Westbourne Park, Ladbroke House offers stylish and contemporary accommodation in an unrivalled location.

The South East England / Greater London region
Whatever you want, London has it...history overload...start with the Museum of London to get a comprehensive overview of what London was like before London was here (pre-history) - and everything that has happened since. Go on to the Tower (1,000 years on, still a commanding presence above Traitor's Gate on the Thames), the Abbey, Monument (to the Great Fire of London), Guildhall, Royal Courts of Justice, Temple Church, the City (the Square Mile). Galleries and museums galore - many of them free - British Museum, National Gallery, Portrait Gallery...the Cabinet War Rooms where Churchill walked the corridors.
Walk the Thames Path - take a ferry trip to the Royal Observatory and Maritime Museum at Greenwich. Explore the ancient green belt forest of Epping or walk through Richmond Park (once a Royal Hunting Reserve). Ride a bike or take a canal boat along the Grand Union Canal.
Shopping - take your pick - up-market, funky, bargain basement, open air markets or colonnaded walks Camden Markets, Knightsbridge, Oxford Street or Piccadilly. Nightlife in the West End, Chelsea or just locally, hopping every night of the week. Maybe the theatre takes your fancy - musicals, drama, comedy, a film première in Leicester Square.
Relax in the park - Regents Park, Kew Gardens, Hyde Park or Kensington Gardens and that is just London; expand you view to the South-East of England and you're going to need to stay quite a while - the Cinque Ports, Chartwell, Brighton Pier and the South Downs walks - visit enjoyengland.com to refine the details of your particular fantasy trip.
Central London/Zone 1 / Notting Hill area
Notting Hill is an attraction in itself - Portobello Road markets and antiques and the incredible diversity of restaurants and nightlife on your doorstep is amazing - all culminating in the Notting Hill Carnival every August, one of the biggest cultural festivals in Europe.
Kensington is a little more sedate but definitely worth wandering through - Holland Park Opera is another annual attraction and, of course, the South Kensington museums are in walking distance - Natural History, Victoria & Albert, Science Museum and National Geographic Society. The Royal Albert Hall (BBC Proms and myriad other shows throughout the year) and the Albert Memorial are also very close by - as is Kensington Palace, former home of Princess Diana and open to the public.
