Home description
The apartment is on the first floor (one above ground) of a period mansion block that is bright and sunny. The block is well maintained and residential. There is a live-in Porter who is on duty during the day and on-call in the evenings/nights. There is a security entry phone system, lifts and is centrally heated with a constant supply of hot water.
The apartment was extensively renovated and refurbished in June 2007. The bathroom plumbing meets North American standards and there is limitless high pressure hot water for good long hot showers and a bath for a relaxing soak.
Of course there is a stereo, TVDVD and the local video shop will allow you to become a temporary member so you can hire the latest movies.
There are two double bedrooms, both with king size beds (6 feet wide) and one of these beds splits into two comfortable single beds. There is also a fold out bed or children’s crib to accommodate a family of five. Please contact me with your specific requirements.
The kitchen is super modern with a dishwasher, washing machine/clothes dryer and everything else you would expect in a real kitchen. You can either cook up a family meal from scratch, bake a pre-made pizza in the convection oven or simply heat up your takeaway in the microwave: you are on holiday after all!

The South East England / Greater London region
The back entrance to the building is on the well known "Portobello Road", famous for its antique market (although the market is further down the road, so we are not disturbed by the noise).
Everything is in easy walking distance from this apartment: Kensington Palace, the former home of Princess Diana; Hyde Park; The Natural History Museum, the Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum; and The Royal Albert Hall. If you don't feel like walking, the apartment is just a few minutes from Notting Hill Gate underground tube station.
In addition there are many buses giving quick access to everything including all theatres, art galleries, and all the other Arts venues and attractions of London. The apartment is very central.
Central London/Zone 1 / Notting Hill area
Shopping is limitless: Harrods and Knightsbridge are walking distance going across Hyde Park. Close by are Kensington Church Street and Portobello for antiques and fashion; Westbourne Grove - the new fashion district - full of not only well known fashion designer boutiques but also new and quirky ones.
For the more traditional 'high street shopper' you are on the doorstep of Kensington High Street and a short bus or tube ride takes you to Oxford and Regent Street for an array of wonderful shops.
How to get there
All London Airports have Express train shuttle services into London. 1. Heathrow comes into Paddington 2. Gatwick comes into Victoria 3. Stanstead comes into Liverpool Street 4. Luton come in to Kings Cross All of these London stations are easily accessible to our flat by the underground tube. I would recommend however, getting a Black London Cab from the taxi rank outside the station. Please email me for a copy of a comprehensive description and guide on the list of options.
