Old Street Station is just 5 minutes away and buses on Old Street can be reached in 2 mins. There are numerous restaurants, traditional pubs, bars and night clubs nearby, its the perfect location

The apartment is situated on the North-East edge of the City Square Mile, heading towards the West End. Old Street tube stn (Northern Line) is just 5 mins away. The apartment sits in between the major roads of Old Street & City Road, where you will find buses to the West End, King's Cross, Tower Hill, Upper Street (Islington). With great transport links, you can navigate your way easily around London and nothing is far away. You can also walk to many attractions, and therefore see more of London as you go. A-Z provided. The vibrant area's of Shoreditch, Spitalfields and Brick Lane are just 1.2-.5 miles away, where you can enjoy a great night out either dining or watching comedy or live bands. In the opposite direction, you will find Upper Street, Islington with many trendy bars, restaurants and nightclubs. Sadlers Wells theatre is within walking distance, as is the Barbican Centre. Beyond that walk down to St Paul's Cathedral, and then onto Fleet Street, Aldwych (Strand) and Trafalgar Square. Covent Garden sits just to the north of the Strand, where you will find London's theatreland and an abundance of restaurants and English pub's. Take a boat trip from the Embankment and visit Kew Gardens, or Hampton Court or head east to Greenwich and visit the Royal Observatory in Greenwich Park. Further along the river is the Thames Barrier. There are 3 large supermarkets nearby, with one being a 2 minute walk away on Old Street and a local cafe is just 1 minute away. Also nearby, is a great fish restaurant, and this is used by many of London black cabbie's. Visit the local Sunday flower, market - Columbia Row - and then head onto to Brick Lane and Old Spitalfields Market. Regents canal can be accessed very easily too. Walk to the City of London and get lost in a world of history, with monuments and building's dating back in time. With expensive hotels on your doorstep, my flat is your answer to affordable accommodation in one of the World's Best Capital Cities.

"home sweet home"

The apartament is very clean and quiet, except for the evening when you hear the music of the near pub . It has everything, missing only one, a drainer! We loved it here.

"Wonderful, comfortable to be with young children to visit London"

The easy explanations of Janet facilitated finding the location of the apartment. Independence provided on arrival and departure, with own keys in a safe password. Equipped with all the amenities to make your stay a pleasant one. There we were great! And it was a ground floor with a garden where every morning greeted the squirrel jumped while the tree.

"Appartement pratique, confortable et bien situé prés du centre de Londres"

L’appartement est situé au rez-de-chaussée dans un endroit très calme, sa taille est suffisante pour 5 personnes. L’appartement a été rénové, il est bien décoré et posséde tout l’équipement nécessaire. Draps et serviettes sont fournis. Commerces à proximité. Depuis l’aéroport de Gatwick le train vous emmène en vingt minutes à la gare de London Bridge, puis 3 arrêts de metro jusqu’à la station de Old street à 600 métres de l’appartement. Le centre de Londres et toutes les principales attractions sont facilement accessibles soit par le metro soit par le bus (arrêt tout proche) Il est possible d’aller à pied jusqu’à la cathédrale St Paul et au musée Tate Modern. Janet était là pour nous accueillir et nous donner très gentiment toutes les indications. Janet est tellement attentionnée qu’elle a même pris des nouvelles par email au cours de notre séjour. Merci Janet pour nous avoir permis de passer un si agréable séjour. Nous avons beaucoup aimé : Le WIFI gratuit et rapide. Le supermarché à proximité ouvert tard. La qualité des équipements (couchage,cuisine..) La situation. Nous aurions aimés : Que le jardin devant l’appartement soit mieux entretenu. Que la musique du Pub mitoyen soit plus discrète (le week-end). Quelques couverts supplémentaires. Que la VMC de la salle de bain soit moins bruyante.

"Excellent rapport qualité prix pour Londres"

Nous sommes restés une semaine chez Janet. Et ce que nous pouvons en dire c'est que tout est bien organisé pour vous donner les informations dont vous aurez besoin en arrivant. L'appartement est confortable, même si je crois qu'il doit être exploité depuis plusieurs années. Il est situé près des transports en commun de Old Street et Angle ( un peu plus loin) ce qui en a fait une excellente base pour visiter tout Londres en bus. J'y reviendrais avec grand plaisir. Conseil : lorsque vous arrivez les numéros dans la rue sont fantaisistes, le 2 ironmonger Row n'est pas si facile à trouver. Un indice il est dans le jardin se situant juste avant le pub " Le Britania", dont le mur est mitoyen avec l'appart. Nous avons eu des sueurs froides en arrivant avant de trouver un minuscule numéro 2 sur la grille. Autre chose, il y a un lave linge dans l'appartement, même si personnellement j'aurais trouvé plus utile pour un séjour comme le notre d'avoir un lave vaisselle à la place.

"The perfect place to stay in East London"

We have stayed in Ironmonger Row previously and returned without hesitation. It is a very comfortable, well appointed apartment with everything anyone could require. We chose it because it was convenient to where our sons are living but we have found that it is very convenient to all parts of London. Our hostess, Janet, has always been very accommodating and we can't recommend this place highly enough.

"Just one word: Lovely!"

I stayed at Janet's flat in April/May 2011 with 3 friends for 9 nights - and it was perfect! All instructions on how to get there, what to do around the area and how to use the appliances in the flat were sent to me in advance by the thoughtful owner - so it was really easy to get there and get used to the flat itself. Janet also responded really quickly to all my mails and questions. We arrived about an hour later than expected - but Janet waited patiently for us and gave us a very warm welcome nonetheless. Then she didn't just leave us with the keys - no, she showed us around the flat, explained all the appliances, wi-fi and everything once more in person - and gave us some really good advice on what to see and do in the area. She is such a helpful, charming and friendly person - it was a pleasure meeting her. Janet also accepted the security deposit in Euro instead of British Pounds - which was a big plus for me. The flat itself was neatly decorated, clean, tidy, very well equipped and with enough places to sit or sleep on for up to 5 people - the double bed, the foldout sofa and the cot were all comfy enough. The only things we were missing were a teapot and a bottle opener - but that wasn't really that tragic. All in all: we had eveything we needed. Best thing about the flat though was the location - it is so convenient, right in Zone 1, close to the actual CITY, within reach of Shoreditch,Hoxton, Spitalfields etc. The transportation links are excellent as well: We usually walked 7-10 min to Old Street Station (there's a Co-Op supermarket, a post office and a bike docking station on the way) which is on the Northern Line or simply used the bus from the stop at St Luke's Music Education Centre (not even 5 min away). Bus 55 takes you straight to Oxford Circus in 20 - 25 min or to the Columbia Flower Market, Brick Lane and Shoreditch when you go east. Big THANKS to Janet - for such a great stay!
