The London region

High Street Kensington offers a huge variety of shops as well as a large Waitrose supermarket just around the corner from the Flat. There is a huge selection of excellent restaurants and bars within walking distance from the flat and there is also a large Odeon cinema also just around the corner from the flat. About a 20 minute walk (or short cab ride away) you will get to Sloane Square and the very trendy Kings Road.

A fantastic central London location but you will find and hopefully enjoy the more intimate atmosphere that Kensington has to offer.

Central London/Zone 1

Nearby is the National History Museum, Science Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum. A very short distance from Earls Court and Olympia for exhibitions and a short walk away from the Albert Hall. Oodles of excellent restaurants to choose from and a large cinema. The tube station is on the district and circle line and takes you into Oxford Street and Leicester Square in super quick time for you to be able to access all the department stores and great London shows and plays.

Although we enjoyed the proximity to London and the apartment in general, the kitchen tap was not in good working order and a couple days into our visit it came off in my husband hand when filling the kettle. We had no use of the kitchen taps for the duration of our visit and the owner expressed his sorriness and apologised for the inconvenience but no one would be able to repair it until we left after our weeks stay. We then had to use the bathroom for any water we require to wash up etc etc. On our return to Australia we were informed they would be taking the cost from our bond to replace the tap. Theres is no doubt in my mind, that any wear and tare on this property is passed on to the tourist. It was bad luck it broke on our stay and it would have been charged to whom ever it was when it did finally come off. So feel free to stay here as long as you don't mind making all there general repairs.

We were extremely sorry for the problem that this family encountered during their stay and we tried everything in our power to fix the problem. The tap had been in excellent working order and when we saw our plumber's pictures, we realised there must have been a fair amount of force to break it - I believe that the person involved may well have, not being familiar with the tap, pulled it in the wrong direction. The reason we have a security deposit is to cover things that are broken or damaged during a stay. Most of the deposit was duly returned. We have had many happy customers and we regret deeply that this couple were unhappy with what happened but we did our upmost to remedy the situation for them.
