About the home
This Central London apartment is in a Victorian house with period features (sash windows, wooden floors etc.) and is bright and airy with high ceilings. Located in a quiet residential area, it is also ideally situated for all the amenities and attractions London has to offer.
Chelsea Wharf with its ten-acre park and access to the river is less than five minutes’ walk away: closer is the world-renowned 606 Jazz Club. Sports fans can enjoy the spectacle at Chelsea Football Ground, while bargain-hunters can wander round the auction house (literally at the end of the road) and the antique-shops that have sprung-up around it.
Burnaby Street is two minutes from London’s famous Kings Road with its trendy high-end shops, boutiques, coffee-houses, cinemas, bars, restaurants and night-clubs - London’s beautiful people throng to Bluebird, Eight over Eight, Beaufort House, Raffles and the famous ‘151’ - all within a fifteen minute walk.
Transport links to the property - by plane, the closer airport is Heathrow, either take the Heathrow Express to Paddington station and jump in a taxi, the ride will take 20 minutes or take the tube (Piccadilly line) to South Kensington station, with a 10 to15 minutes taxi ride to the property .
Another alternative is Gatwick airport. The Gatwick Express brings you directly to Victoria station, the taxi ride will take 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can go on the tube at Victoria, take the district or circle line to South Kensington or Sloane Square, the taxi ride will be 10 to 15 minutes long.
By train, take the Eurostar at St Pancras International station, taxi ride will take 25 minutes to the property.
Transport links from the property - take a train from the newly-opened Imperial Wharf station (7 minutes walk from the apartment) and join the District Line - which gives access to the whole City with its museums, art galleries, palaces and ancient buildings - at West Brompton station. Or stay on the train to Olympia - or the new Westfield Shopping Centre with its shops, bars and cinemas in just 9 minutes. There is also a connection to Clapham Junction with trains to Windsor Castle and other tourist attractions around London. Additionally there are numerous ‘buses to take you along the Kings Road to Sloane Square (home of Peter Jones’ Department Store) where you can also pick-up the London Underground rail-system.
The flat comes equipped with linens and towels as well as a washing-machine/dryer for your own laundry requirements. It has polished wood floors and Gabbeh rugs as well as a TV with a DVD player and a small DVD library. There is also internet access via Broadband. The bathroom has been newly refurbished as a wet room.
If you want to eat-in, there is fully-equipped kitchen (complete Anolon professional cookware set) and the supermarket is a five-minute walk away. For ultra-convenient eating-out the Lots Road Gastro-Pub is just around the corner, and the Chelsea Ram with its varied menu of food and drink is less than sixty seconds’ walk from the front door. The area is lovely, it's so central and bustling yet the street is quiet. Walk down to the river a few minutes walk from the flat and you can see the lovely Albert Bridge (gorgeous at night)... more |

Fabulous little apartment in a great little neighborhood! We were very comfortable during our stay. Arrived on a weekend early evening, but it was dark. Had never done the tubes before, and some lines get closed for repairs on weekends. We ended up taking a cab from the train station, which cost around 27 pounds. We let ourselves in, with the keys from the keybox. At first the keys were a little confusing, nothing like the locks we have in the US. We did get the hang of them though. Shortly after, Iabelle's partner David met us with a welcome basket. A few food items to get us started (goats butter is fantastic), and a container of homemade delicious snacks! We booked this about two weeks out. Paid half on Paypal, and the balance upon arrival. Wrote one UK check for the balance, and a seperate check for the deposit. When we checked out, I was given back the deposit check so I could tear it up. Most days we ate lunch out and about & returned home to cook dinner. A couple of nights we returned home early to rest up & then ventured back out for late nights. Never had any concerns walking thru the neighborhoods in the dark. 10 to 15 minute walk to Fulham Broadway tube station. Bus stops are closer, but we never took the time to figure out the bus system. The internet was a available with a Dongle, but that didn't work with my IPAD 2. My IPAD 2 has 3G, so we still had internet, but reception for Skype didn't work well. Probably would have been fine with the Dongle and a laptop. When we checked out, David was kind enough to drop us at a Tube station on the way out. Would definitely recommend this little flat. Clean and comfortable. |

Thank you for making our visit to London so enjoyable. The taxis that you arranged both in London and in Paris worked wonderfully.
The apartment was great. It was convenient to buses, stores and restaurants. We felt very safe in the community. We felt we were coming home each night to our home and little community.
It was nice meeting you - thank you.

Torneremo sicuramente.

We spent a really pleasant stay in London in the Isabelle's flat.
First of all Isabelle is a pleasant and extraordinary householder.
She made us a lot of good suggestions on how to go around in London and especially in Chelsea where the flat is located.
She was really extraordinary when, knowing the problems we had with the flight, we found milk, bread and some other things we needed when we arrived at 03.00 a.m.
The flat is really nice and it's located in a quite area, the best solution after a tired day visiting London.
We'll advise Isabelle's flat to our friends and we're sure, we'll go there again.

Nous avons transmis l’adresse à quelques amis…
A bientôt !!
Cordialement

"I had booked this flat from 15 April to 1 May 2011 for my parents who were visiting me from overseas. Isabelle was very friendly and welcoming from our very first phone conversation. I was able to view the property before making the booking and the flat looked just like the photographs.
The flat was perfect for my parents and for me to stay with them during their time here. It is located on a lovely residential street and easily accommodates three grown up people. The location was great for me to go the work and for my parents to go to all the tourist spots. Its also close to the supermarket which is convenient. The house is well decorated and is fully furnished, from duvets to towels to kitchen utensils. It was wonderful for my mum to be able to cook so easily and it was easy for us to think of it as our own house!
I would recommend this place to people travelling to London with family, friends, as a couple or alone for business or work."
Best wishes,

"The property is really good, nice decoration, very clean and sunny. The flat is also in a very quiet location and even the entertainment facilities are available. The internet was provided in the form of a dongle, this was really useful as I was doing some write up for my PhD and with the dongle it wasn't problem at all because I had connection to the internet every where and at any time."

What a find! This is the perfect base for London, I travelled on business and it was heavenly to come back “home” after a busy day in London. The train and bus routes a few minutes away meant I could reach all areas of London by public transport. I turned left and one street away found Chelsea harbour with an amazing selection of restaurants and the Chelsea “design centre” beside Imperial Wharf station. I turned right and in minutes was in the trendy Kings road with its eclectic mix of people and establishments. Earls court and Olympia are 1 and 2 stops away from Imperial Wharf station (I walked on the days I had meetings there) I even managed to fit in a morning shopping at Westfield even though I was on a tight schedule. It’s the first time I have stayed in an apartment in London and it will be my preference from now on. I was met and escorted to the apartment and shown around by the property manager. He kindly helped me with my luggage, brought me a welcome pack including some of his own homemade pate and a welcome bottle of wine. He fussed over me and pointed me the right direction for my meetings next day, the nearest supermarket and best local spots. I felt really relaxed after quite a long day travelling from overseas. The apartment is thoughtfully furnished and there is everything you could want from a hairdryer to DVDs and local take away menus. It was comfortable and peaceful and spotless. I have stayed at 5* hotels in London and this surpasses any of the hotels I stayed and as I didn’t have to venture out for food and drinks it was incredible value for money. I want to thank Isabelle and David for their kind hospitality and I will become a regular at Chez Isabelle in London.
