This is a new one bedroom flat on fifth floor comprising entrance hall, lounge / fully equipped kitchen, bedroom, bathroom in popular riverside apartment complex with shops, bars, restaurants within one minutes walk. It also has excellent transport links: Taxis, buses, tube (Victoria line), mainline rail and Boris bikes. One hour or less by public transport from all airports: Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted. The West End is less than half an hour away, South Bank is within walking distance and for those who like clubland, Vauxhall is a centre for it.

FAQs

Q: My wife is curious to know why no TV?

A: There is no TV because I don't like it. I find nothing worth watching and if I am so lazy as to turn it on, the rest of the evening is wasted on pap. I would much prefer to go down the pub, have a couple of drinks and talk to real people or read a book or program some software or go dancing or many other things which you wife may want want to hear about.

Q: Why is there only one bed?

A: The apartment is quite small. We used to have a sofa bed, but more than two people staying in the apartment is too many. It is not a tenement. Also, especially with no TV, the bed gives you plenty to do.

Q: Our fligth will arrive at Heathrow Airport at 09:20 pm: could we have any problem arriving so late to you apartment?

A: NO, we do check ins 8am - 10pm

Q: In which floor is located the apartment? Is a lift available in the building?

A: 5th floor and there is a lift.

Q: Can I pay by Visa card?

A: Yes. I send you a Paypal invoice. Paypal accept all major credit cards

Q: Is there air conditioning?

A: There is a portable air conditioner / fan in the flat for those hot days.

Q: Is there a microwave.

A. There is no microwave. We don't believe in microwaves ;-)

Q: Is there a phone?

A: Yes there is a phone. Please use it. You may be charged a small amount at the owner's discretion. Local calls (theatres etc) are free for sure.

Q: Is it allowed to smoke?

A: YES

Q: I don't like at all smoking smell, so is the ventilation effective?

A: YES VERY. We have happy non smokers staying

Q: How big is the bed?

A: 200cm x 160cm

Q: I have big back problems, so I need to be sure that the bed is comfortable (not too soft, not too hard…).

A: YES

Q: Is your flat calm (no street'noise)?

A: YES

Q: My daughter is student at London Southbank university, is it easy to go there from your apartment (walking or transport)?

A: YES

Secure underground parking is available under the block with a direct lift to the 5th floor. However, as normal in London, it is expensive - about £25 per day or less for shorter periods. Please note that some of the furniture has changed, in particular there is no sofa bed as mentioned in the video, it has been replaced by a much nicer sofa. I have been unable to remove or edit the video! We're working on it. THERE IS ONLY ONE BED

"A gem in busy London city!"

I highly recommend this flat to people < 2 if you want to plan a short getaway or honeymoon in London. The location of this flat is perfect-- 30 seconds of walk to Vauxhall tube station, and 2 mins walk to Vauxhall train station for overground. If you want, you can take a stroll along Thames River to London Eyes, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace--are all within 20 mins walk.

The flat is so well equipped and furnished. It's very clean too! We cooked everyday in the flat and saved us lots of cost on food. The host George is tremendously responsive and helpful. Without this flat, I don't think we would have such a great stay in London.

Some reminders to people who want to rent this flat:
1. you need to bring your own hair dryer
2. there is no TV in the flat, but wi-fi is available and the speed is perfect-- you actually don't need a TV! just bring your notebook/ipad with you

"Great location and modern apartment."

We had a great stay for a week in this apartment at St. George's Wharf directly across from the Vauxhall bus station and tube stop giving easy access to almost anywhere in London. It was just as easy to get to South Bank and Borough Market as the west end from here - which is not the case if you stay in a different section of London. A large Sainsbury's within walking distance let us buy a wide range of groceries and cook all our meals in the well-laid out kitchen. Wi-fi was excellent, and we would certainly stay here again.
