This 2 bed property in the famous Bloomsbury area, and within minutes of Oxford Street and the West End, is wonderfully located for a short stay in London. You're a minute's walk from the popular British Museum, about 7 minutes to Oxford Street and within a 10 minute walk of most of London's top theatres around Leicester and Piccadilly Square. Properties simply do not get much more central than this with all of the West Ends' theatres, galleries and art museums on your doorstep!

Steeped in a rich history and with its original Georgian architecture still very much prominent, this house was one of the original buildings built in Bloomsbury in 1806 and was once the residence of a famous British film producer at the time of World War I.

Set on a beautiful square, the property sits on the ground floor of a striking London townhouse. The impressively grand drawing room is at the front of the property and has views over the Square. With its high ceilings, original fireplace and immaculate furnishings, this room is both welcoming and comfortable. With a south-facing aspect, the room is flooded with natural light and it's a real treat to sit here on a sunny afternoon, especially with the huge choice of books on offer!

Leading on through towards the back (and very quiet part of the property) are the two bedrooms, both of which are decorated in muted tones. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a bath, separate shower and WC. Also in the property is a second bathroom/shower room; perfect for use by the second bedroom.

The kitchen is located at very the back of the property and is a modern extension with lots of light flowing in from the skylights and French doors which open onto the terrace. The kitchen is chic and the shine of the wooden floors is offset nicely by the sleek white kitchen with its integral oven and microwave and all the modern appliances you'll need for preparing meals at home. There's a dining table for eating in and, when the weather's fine, the terrace is the perfect spot to wind down peacefully after a long day of exploring! This is a fine property and very generously proportioned - both the front drawing room and the kitchen/ dining area afford lots of room and comfort.

Russell Square is one of London's largest and is idyllically green. There is so much within walking distance of the front door... shops, galleries, restaurants and cafes (to suit all budgets) as well the Capital's top attractions - the theatres of Covent Garden, The National Gallery at Trafalgar Square, Madame Tussaud's and the Sherlock Holmes Museum on Baker St. For an evening stroll, Regents Park should not be missed, located minutes from the property it is one of London's absolute gems with rows and rows of flower beds and streams running through it!

For travelling further afield, the Russell Square Underground is on the other side of the Square (a couple of minutes away) and is on the Piccadilly line. For visitors arriving into Heathrow, this is a handy line as you take this line from any of the terminals at Heathrow straight to Russell Square. Kings Cross St Pancras is 1 tube stop away or just over a 10 minute walk. From here there are connections on most of London's lines as well as mainline trains to various parts of the UK. For those preferring not to walk there are many buses, such as the No 7, which can whisk you straight down to Oxford Street.

Central London/Zone 1

Enticing Bloomsbury is known for it's Georgian terraces, cool white garden squares, leafy boulevards, cobbled lanes and wide streets. Conveniently located in the absolute centre of London it has no official boundaries, but can be roughly defined as the square bounded by Tottenham Court Road to the west, Euston Road to the north, Gray's Inn Road to the east, and either High Holborn or the thoroughfare formed by New Oxford Street, Bloomsbury Way and Theobalds Road to the south.

The area gives its name to the Bloomsbury Group of artists, the most famous of whom was Virginia Woolf, who met in private homes in the area in the early 1900s. It has been home to various celebrities at one point or another including Ricky Gervais, Bob Marley and Charles Darwin, as well as other great writers, scientists and philosphers. It was in Bloomsbury that Karl Marx created communism, Virginia Woolf defined the twentieth century British novel, and Charles Darwin first conceived the theory of natural selection.

It is home to the prominent British Museum, containing seven millenia of human art and artefacts, and plenty of other academic institutions including Birbeck college, the aesthetically pleasing University of London Library and RADA, London's grandest drama school. With its broad student population, there are bars, bookshops and eateries galore, as well as a host of quirky boutiques in which to buy everything from antiques to sunglasses.
