This property is in a modern building, in a beautiful tree-lined street, in a great location in Wimbledon Village.

Enter the property and you will find a large kitchen at the front of the house with wooden floors, fitted cupboards and modern appliances, including a hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, washing machine and digital radio. There's also an elegant glass dining table with seating for 6 people.

At the back of the apartment is the sitting room, with a warm coloured rug, a traditional style armchair and a couple of cream sofas. There is a glass coffee table, a big flatscreen TV and French windows which open out onto the pretty garden. Outside you'll find a table and chairs – ideal for al fresco dining – and a large lawn. (Note the lawn is shared by other residents, although hardly used!).

Off the entrance hall is a handy guest loo.

Upstairs are 2 bedrooms and bathrooms. The master bedroom looks to the front of the property and has a large bay window, wooden floors, stylish glass bedside tables and a double bed. This bedroom enjoys a garden aspect. There's lots of wardrobe space in here, a dark wood chest of drawers and an ornate mirror. The en suite bathroom has white tiling, a bath tub with a shower and glass screen, a sink and a loo.

The second bedroom is also a double and has two large windows, matching bedside tables, wooden floors and a large built-in wardrobe too. This bedroom looks over the front of the property. The en suite bathroom off this bedroom has a contemporary shower unit, a sink and a loo.

This apartment is in a leafy and affluent area with plenty to offer. You are in the heart of old Wimbledon Village with its many boutique shops, cafes and bars. Only a few minutes along this road and down the hill you'll find lots of restaurants and pubs on the main Wimbledon High Street as well as a couple of supermarkets and a cinema. If you fancy a picnic on a sunny day, the Common is only a few minutes walk from the flat too and offers ponds and golf courses.

For the Wimbledon Tennis Championships every June and July, it is only a 15 minute walk or a short taxi ride. For transport throughout the year, you have Wimbledon tube station a 10 minute walk in the opposite direction, which joins the District line. This line can take you to South Kensington in 22 minutes for the shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, and some of London's best museums are here too. The Victoria & Albert, the Natural History and the Science Museum are just around the corner from this tube station. In 24 minutes you can be at Sloane Square for the upmarket area of Chelsea too.

To the North, the neighbourhoods of Putney and Parson's Green - just over the Thames - are also very sought-after, with lots of restaurants, pubs, and one-off shops.

There's a direct train from Wimbledon Overground station (right next to the tube) to Waterloo if you want to head right to the heart of the city, and it will only take you 17 minutes.

If you are hiring a car, there could be space for one on the driveway during your stay (subject to availability).

The London region

Wimbledon is world-famous for being home to the All England Tennis Club and host of the Wimbledon Championships in June and July every year. The tournament is the oldest tennis competition in the world and a British tradition, with a strict white dress code for players and spectators often indulging in strawberries and cream under their sun hats – a thoroughly British affair.

The area dates back to the Iron Age and near the Common, Wimbledon Village is very pretty, with many boutique shops and restaurants. The town area which is 'modern', having been mainly built post 1838, has more brand shops and a cinema. The farmer's market near the Common every Saturday has fresh food on offer, and attracts many visitors to this lovely area.

Wealthy families often choose Wimbledon, as there are many large Victorian houses with gardens, and a country feel whilst the centre of London is just a short train or tube journey away.
