This duplex has a stylish and elegant sitting room, with a large cream sofa and matching chaise longue, a traditional style armchair and sleek black grand piano. There's a large patterned rug over the parquet flooring and an original open fireplace with a marble surround. This room has lots of natural light from the sash windows, and the French doors open out onto a terrace balcony where you can see far across the Capital. Interesting pieces of artwork and the gold bar around the ceiling of this room give it a regal feel.
Also on this floor you'll find the dining room, with a large dark wood table, seating for 8 people and an antique style chandelier. This room has a traditional British feel to it and would be sure to impress guests if you host for an evening! The vast book collection means you wouldn't be lacking something to read during your stay too.
The kitchen has wooden fitted cupboards, granite worktops and modern, high spec appliances, including a maroon 'range' cooker, a microwave, a fridge-freezer and a coffee maker.
Upstairs you'll find the large master bedroom. In here you'll find a double bed with a wooden bedframe and bedside table sections and a rail for clothing along one sloping wall. There's a stylish free-standing bath in the space behind the head of the bed under the velux windows. At the far end of this room, there's a washing area with warm-coloured tiling, two wall-mounted sinks and a mirror. Continue down this hallway and you'll find a wet room, with a spacious showering area and a loo.
The second bedroom is not normally used as a bedroom. But, on request, will be set up with a quality double air mattress.
On the first floor of this two-floored apartment, there is also a third reception room, which can be used as a dressing room, or could be made into a second bedroom. There is also a shower room near the kitchen on this floor, with a grey tiled walk-in shower, a sink, a loo and a heated towel rail.
This classic British mansion block is on Old Brompton Road, which has a great choice of eateries and bars to enjoy an evening drink. Just turn the corner onto Earl's Court Road and you'll find 'Garnier' restaurant which serves brilliant French cuisine and has been rated 5 stars by food critic A A Gill!
South Kensington is another area worth exploring – wander the Victoria & Albert, the Natural History and the Science Museums, or browse the many boutique shops in the area. It's only a 10 minute walk to Earl's Court tube station, which joins the Piccadilly and District lines, and from here you can be at South Kensington in two stops, or at Oxford Circus for more shopping in 18 minutes.
It is an 18 minute trip from Earl's Court tube to the impressive Westfield Shopping Centre, or if you hop on the C1 bus, it will take you right there. Perhaps you fancy exploring the well-known borough of Chelsea? The King's Road is only a 7 or 8 minute taxi ride away, and has a plethora of lovely restaurants, trendy cars, stylish one-off shops and cafes.
The number 74 bus goes to High Street Kensington and Notting Hill Gate for Portobello Road markets, and the C1 bus will take you to South Kensington and on to Harrods department store I Knightsbridge. Hop on the 74 bus for Selfridges and Oxford Street.

About this location
The London region
The focus of this exclusive area is Kensington High Street with its array of upmarket boutiques and luxury shops as well as high street shops, cafes and restaurants. The streets of elegant townhouses, often with white pillared fronts, are classically British and familiar to many as an emblem of prosperity. Behind these immaculate doors are spacious homes, with room for all the family.
Kensington borders Hyde Park - one of the largest parks in central London and a great day out – as well as Kensington Gardens and Kensington Palace where Princess Diana once lived. Holland Park, just West of Kensington High Street, is handy for a walk with the kids, or if you're looking for an urban retreat to unwind, there are many high end spas and salons to visit.
The second hub of activity is in South Kensington, which has a tube station and a decent selection of pubs, wine bars and eateries. This area plays host to many museums and venues, notably the Royal Albert Hall, the Natural History Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum. Many consider this the ideal destination for a family vacation to London because of the safe, quiet streets and numerous activities available close to the city centre.
