The South East England / London region

London, one of the world's truly greatest city, priding itself on its variety of experiences, food, architecture, fashion, theatre alongside its diverse and friendly people. Immerse yourself in the finest shops in the world, view some of the finest exhibitions on the planet then throw yourself into the exuberent array of london's theatres restaurants bars and nightlife. or take a river curise, or if you want a more peaceful experience mooch along any of our great markets or stroll quietly along the canal or through any of the fantstic number or Royal Parks. whatever sort of holiday you want it is here for you.
The Central London/Zone 1 / Notting Hill area
Notting Hill needs little introduction. It is Central Londons finest residential area, with great peaceful tree-lined streets of white pillared Victorian townhouses. The area is home to Portobello Road, the world's finest streetmarket whose stalls and shops graduate from antiques to fruit and veg then funky clothes, boutique fashion, music, flowers, furniture and much much more, all flanked by an array of cafes, restaurants and bohemian bars from which to relax and peoplewatch when in need of a sit down. You might even spot some of Notting Hills more famous residents, Claudia Schiffer, Sienna Miller, Stella McCartney, Richard Curtis, Jonathan Miller, and Martin Amis all live here. The apartment is 10 minutes away from Kensington Gardens - featuring Kensington Palace, Princess Diana playground and fountain and a swan lake, and in the other direction Holland Park - with its wooded walks, Japanese gardens, peacocks, sculptures and kids playgounds. There are three arthouse cinemas within a short walk of the appartment, and a great choice of restaurants. Central London is 10 mins away on the tube, or 15 by bus (the City is 20 mins by train), or you can easily hail a taxi or hire one of the bikes docked at the top of the road. It is central enough to have a day out then come home and relax before going back out for the evening if you wish to.
I have lived in London for over 40 years and Notting Hill is without question the best place to be.

NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL
Europe's largest, and the world's second largest, street festival takes over the streets of Notting Hill on the last weekend of August of each year. Primarily a carnival to celebrate the Carribean community in London it is open to all comers with a twisting colourful parade of amazing costumes, floats, steel bands and other music. Alongside this the rest of the area fills with sound systems, impromptu bands, hundreds of Caribbean food stalls, and over 1 million revellers flood the area for the two day party.

Our family of six (two grandparents, two parents, and two children ages 3 and 6) had a fantastic, comfortable stay in this flat. The location is simply outstanding. You will be less than 1 minutes' walk to a Tube station with three lines, as well as numerous buses and shops at Notting Hill Gate. Within 10 minutes' walk are Portobello Road Market, Kensington Gardens, Holland Park or Kensington High Street. A fleet of bikes for hire is immediately outside the door. Despite all this, the apartment is quiet and receives natural light despite being at the lower ground level. The flat had everything we needed. Two double bedrooms are comfortable, with plenty of storage space. The kids' bedroom has bunkbeds and a fun loft for playing or reading. The kitchen is a marvel of space efficiency and we cooked complete dinners most nights without any trouble. Throughout the flat are interesting, well-chosen books and some toys for children. You will feel at home! Depending on the size of your party, having only one bathroom may be tricky. There was also a slight issue with the front doorknob and the door had to be locked to be completely closed. Other than that, our stay was perfect. We appreciate Eddie and his family's hospitality and recommend this flat with the greatest enthusiasm. |

Great central rental, quiet, clean and all the amenities you need. Eddie was a great host, made us feel very welcomed, as well as his complimentary, great-bottle of Prosecco. Would recommend this rental friends and family. |
