The South East England / Greater London region

London, the capital of United Kingdom, is a city of seven million people covering 620 sq miles (1606 sq km) of South East England. It is built on the river Thames and is at the centre of the UK roads and rail network. From London visitors can easily reach the countries' other main tourist attractions.

London has gradually swallowed up many of the towns and villages that once surrounded it. If you are travelling with children, there are lots to do such as visit London Zoo, Madam Tussaud, London Aquarium, London Eye and many more to count.

London is the largest metropolitan city in Europe and enjoys both modern, medieval and historic sites such as Tower of London, St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, St Margaret's Church, the historic settlement of Greenwich, the Royal Botanic Gardens, the National Gallery, the Westminster Hall, Museum of London, the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert and many more. To be able to enjoy London to its fullest we advise that you buy a recommended travel guide to London.

There is also easy access to Bond Street and New Bond street for all the famous designer stores and also great high street shopping at the world famous Oxford street and Regents Street including Top Shop, Selfridges, John Lewis, Debenhams, House of Fraser and many, many more. You must also visit famous Harrods which is also within easy reach and for something different historic Camden market will cater for all eclectic tastes.

This is museum heaven with the British and Victoria & Albert to name a few. There are also art galleries in abundance like the National and Tate, Cathedrals, St Pauls and Westminster Abbey. The Tower of London and Tower Bridge for a taste of real medieval London.

Buckingham Palace, Houses of Parliament and Big Ben all add to the ambience and character of London. For great views of the City visit the London Wheel. If you want to get close to celebrities or indeed feel like one yourself then have your picture taken with as many celebs as you like at Madam Tussards.
