The South East England / Greater London region
London is the capital city of both the United Kingdom and the constituent country of England. The ancient City of London, to which the name originally belonged, still retains its mediaeval boundaries, but the name "London" has long applied more generally to the whole metropolis which has grown up around it.
London today is one of the world's leading business, financial and cultural centres and its influence in politics, education, entertainment, media, fashion and the arts all contribute to its status as one of the major global cities.
The city is an international transport hub, with five international airports and a large port. It serves as the largest aviation hub in the world and its main airport, the multi-terminal Heathrow, carries more international passengers than any other airport in the world.
London is a major tourist destination with a number of royal parks, and numerous iconic landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and the London Eye. Other attractions include famous institutions such as the British Museum and the National Gallery, along with a multitude of shopping, nightlife and entertainment venues in the West End. London's main geographical feature is the River Thames which runs through the city from the south-west to the east.

Central London/Zone 1 / Hoxton area
East London is a vibrant and culturally interesting area which is the fastest growing destination in London. We have so many fabulous places to explore, many of them not on the tourist trail.
Since Hoxton Square is a hot spot for films, it could be that you get to experience a filming from your window with famous actors. Private views in White Cube give artists and those who are interested in art the chance to meet in the park for a glass of champagne - inspiring!
Visit the World Heritage site at Maritime Greenwich, hunt for bargains and banter in Brick Lane & Spitalfields, get to ExCeL London easily, have a night out at The O2, discover urban regeneration at Canary Wharf, explore two London icons - the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, visit Stratford to see how work on the new Olympic Park is coming along, try a show at a theatre in Hackney or visit Deptford with its resident artist community and knock-out festivals.
How to get there
At which airport do you arrive? City Airport: grab a taxi (it's max about 24 Pounds to Hoxton Square) Stansted: decide for Stansted-Express as the fastest way to "Liverpool Street Station" and grab a taxi (about 5 GBP to Hoxton Sq.) Heathrow : decide for Heathrow- Express to "Paddington" and grab a taxi (it's about 20 GBP to Hoxton Sq.) Gatwick: decide for Express train to Victoria and take a taxi ( about 20 GBP)
Old Street Station and Liverpool Street Station are in a short walking distance (5-10 minutes) from Hoxton Square. A lot of buses like 149, 243, 55, 242 are heading towards these stations within 1 or 2 stops all minute.

Guestbook for Stunning Loft atmoshere at Hox
Marshie New Zealand Bewertung wurde gespeichert: 28. Juni 2009 Reisezeitraum: Juni 2009 What a wonderful place to stay. Hoxton itself is a very exciting area, but the apartment is the icing on the cake. Excellent location, beautifully and tastefully decorated, lovely and light, and very kind hosts who leave all sorts of thoughtful treats. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else!
