The Somerset region
Bath is the gateway to the West Country of England, and is an easy 90 minute train journey from London, Paddington, station, whilst also 40 minutes drive from Bristol Airport. The quieter pace of life and the friendly welcome of local people makes a visit truly memorable.
Bath is a wonderful small city to stay in, with one of Britain's top regional theatres within 10 minutes walk of of the property as well as a wealth of excellent eating places, along with clubs for the more energetic. Country walks are also easily accessible from the house, either along the canal or up into the surrounding hills.
For lovers of beautiful cities, Bath is hard to beat. The grandiose Neo-classical Palladian crescents, terraces, and squares spread out over the surrounding hills and set in its green valley are a demonstration par excellence of the integration of architecture, urban design, and landscape setting, and the deliberate creation of a beautiful city. Not only are individual buildings such as the Assembly Rooms and Pump Room of great distinction, they are part of the larger overall city landscape that evolved over a century in a harmonious and logical way, drawing together public and private buildings and spaces in a way that reflects the precepts of Palladio tempered with picturesque aestheticism.

Delighted to know that your special weekend went so well. Yes, pre-booking an on-line shop is certainly the way to do it, and I hope very much that you will revisit the house - perhaps in August when prices are lower? - and then you can enjoy the garden too.

"Beautiful Georgian House"
This is an old house in Georgian Bath and with that comes some problems. There are lots of stairs but as we spent most of our time in the kitchen and dining room that wasn't a big problem. Unload… More
Thanks for staying, and I am very pleased that you enjoyed the house so much. Of course, all the big houses in central Bath have lots of stairs and need some forethought when it comes to loading and unloading - it is the nature of the place. But we love it and wouldn't swap! Hope to see you again sometime soon.

Thanks for the review and I'm glad you had such a good time! As a 5 floor house there are lots of stairs as well as lots of space to enjoy. The house is, in fact, 250 years old this year - we have the original deeds. I do hope you will stay again - you'll be very welcome.

Could not of asked for more, the photo's do not do it justice at all. We stayed at the house for a hen do with 13 of us, it was just perfect. The house is gorgeous, quaint and homely. The garden is fantastic with little areas where you can sit and enjoy a meal together or just gaze at the view from the summer house, some of stayed up and managed to catch the sunrise which is was beautiful. It's a perfect distance from the town and the station (even though we did get a taxi as we had so much stuff) I would definitely use this house next time I stay in bath as it is great for a group of friends or family. And I will definitely be recommending it to friends and family. I can't express anymore how great it made our weekend being in such a lovely house in a beautiful city.
