Apartment | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
Available by the day, weekend, or on a weekly basis, this luxury city centre apartment sleeps two people and comprises entrance hall, sitting room, kitchen, bathroom, double bedroom and small patio. Stylishly decorated and furnished, the apartment has two televisions and two DVD players. Free Wi-Fi is available to all our guests.
Situated in the World Heritage City of Bath, the apartment offers all of the lower ground floor of a Georgian house built in 1790. It was part of the second wave of building in the 18th Century as the heart of the City became over-developed and housing started to creep up the sides of the seven hills that surround the old Roman city of Bath. Mixing an historic building with modern furnishings and fittings, the apartment is located just a few minutes walk from the city centre - for example, 8 minutes stroll to the Royal Crescent; 11 minutes to Bath Abbey (according to Google maps). It also offers convenience (at least twenty restaurants within a ten minute stroll) with accessibility (the M4 is twenty minutes away and Bath Spa railway station is five minutes by taxi).
Quiet for a city centre location, the apartment tends to be warm in winter (with under-floor heating in the bathroom and kitchen) and cool in summer (open the French windows from the bedroom to the private patio for a cool breeze in summer). The patio is a perfect place to sit and sip a glass of wine before heading out for dinner in one of the numerous restaurants that Bath has to offer.

About this location
The Somerset region
The West Country is in the south west of England. It encompasses the historic counties of Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, and Somerset, and the City and County of Bristol, plus the counties of Gloucestershire and Wiltshire are also often included. The city of Bath is situated in Somerset.
Bath is the only destination in the UK to have the whole city designated a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Since 1987 Bath has been listed as a 'cultural site' with outstanding universal value and cultural significance.
In Bath you can bathe in the thermal water that comes directly from the natural hot springs deep beneath the city. Bathing can be enjoyed at the Thermae Bath Spa, which combines ancient history with contemporary design. Relax and unwind in the warm, open-air rooftop pool and gaze out on the spectacular views across Bath's skyline.
To experience the heart of the World Heritage Site where bathing in the spa water was enjoyed 2,000 years ago, visit the Roman Baths, a magnificent temple and former bathing complex. Here you can see the source of the city's spa water and walk in the footsteps of the Romans on the ancient, original stone pavements around the steaming pool. The extensive ruins and treasures from the spring are beautifully preserved and presented. You can also pop into the Pump Room and sample the hot spa water, rich in over 42 minerals and specifically drawn for drinking. Be warned though, it's not to everyone's taste!
During the 18th century, ambitious local entrepreneurs set out to make Bath one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Today Bath has around 5,000 listed buildings (including the Bath Star Apartment). The most famous is the Royal Crescent, comprising 30 houses laid out in a crescent shape.
The city may be well known for relaxing spa breaks, but there are plenty of other exciting things to do in Bath too. Shop until you drop at the city's vibrant mixture of independent and established high street retailers; explore the countryside on a leisurely walk or cycle route; soak up the city's historic atmosphere and beautiful architecture with a sightseeing tour; or take a day on safari at Longleat Safari Park. Whether you're visiting to enjoy some time on your own, with the family or as a couple looking for a romantic escape, there's such as wide range of different activities to choose from in Bath you'll wish you could stay for longer!

"Lovely holiday apartment"
The flat is comfortably furnished and in a great location (close enough to the centre to make the most of Bath, but far enough out for escaping the hustle and bustle!) Minor downsides were the difficulty of parking in the area and that a bit of noise came through the ceiling: creaky floorboards, TV, etc. On the whole, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
