The Moorings Lower Flat self-catering apartment is located right next to the beach - the garden wall forms part of the sea wall. With breathtaking views this ground floor flat is located in the idyllic village of Cemaes Bay and provides an ideal base for exploring the fishing village, North Anglesey and beyond.
The setting of this property is really quite special with breathtaking views of the village, the harbour and out to sea from the kitchen, lounge and bedroom, whatever time of the year.
Cemaes is a small fishing village with narrow streets, a few shops and pubs and a hotel with bars and a bistro. It is located on the north coast of the island and is a good starting point for access to the Anglesey Coastal Path. There is a nature reserve at Cemlyn to the west and Church Bay further along the coast attracts many visitors.
At the eastern end of the village is a broad, flat, sandy beach which offers a great venue for sunbathing, swimming and water sports.
This apartment can sleep up to nine, book with the Top Flat to accommodate a group of up to fourteen.
The kitchen is spacious and modern. It is well equipped with a cooker, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave and washing machine.
Dining area (conservatory)
Eight chairs are set at a long wooden table in the spacious dining area where panoramic windows provide stunning views of the bay. There is also a comfortable seating area with a 28in TV, a cane two seater sofa and two single chairs, great for enjoying a morning coffee as you watch the tide come in! With separate access into the conservatory is a children's play area with toys and games.
The light and airy well-proportioned lounge has a beautiful, ornate wooden fire surround with an open fire, perfect to provide a welcoming glow and warmth in the evenings. The white beamed ceiling and glass panelled doors give a feeling of lightness and airiness enhanced by the views out to sea. There is a 3-seater sofa and two armchairs, a 38 inch TV with Freeview and DVD player and a Sony i-pod dock. Books and DVDs are to be found on the shelves of the dresser.
The white beamed ceiling and polished wood floor bring plenty of character to this double bedroom which also contains an interesting fireplace, bedside cabinets, a chest of drawers and rocking chair.
This bedroom contains two sets of bunk beds, one of which includes a double bed. There is also a wardrobe, a cupboard, and a 15in portable TV with a DVD player. There is a cot under the bunk bed and the bedroom window looks out to sea.
This double bedroom contains a chest of drawers and a fitted wardrobe.
An elegant white-tiled bathroom contains a full-size bath, a toilet, a sink and a heated towel rail.
Next door to the bathroom is a spacious shower room with a walk-in shower, toilet, a sink and a heated towel rail.
38inch TV, Freesat, DVD player with selection of DVD's, iPod dock and a selection of books in lounge. 28 inch TV with Freesat in the conservatory. 15inch TV with a DVD player in bedroom 2.
The property has the benefit of a large garden (shared with the upstairs flat), overlooking the bay, as well as off road parking for one vehicle. There is additional off road parking alongside the beach and roadside parking on the beach road. A private decking area with table and chairs for the lower flat can be accessed through the children's play area in the conservatory. An additional decking area at the bottom of the garden is the perfect spot to read the morning newspaper overlooking the bay. The decking area has a table and 4 chairs.
The surrounding area
Cemaes Bay sits in the middle of the North Anglesey Coast. To the west is Cemlyn nature reserve which has been described as 'the jewel in the crown' of Anglesey's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In the summer, the stars of the show are Terns engaged in courtship displays and feeding their young but the reserve is home to a wealth of life - birds, mammals, insects, wildflowers and marine creatures.
Further along the A5025, Church Bay (Porth Swtan) has magnificent views, a curving beach and attractive cliffs, the Wavecrest Café and the oldest preserved cottage on Anglesey. To the east is Amlwch, an ancient port that became part of the 'Copper Kingdom' along with the nearby Parys Mountain.
The Anglesey Coastal Path extends right the way around the coastal perimeter of the island and any section that you choose to walk will reward you with spectacular sea views, fascinating historical features and great memories.
