About the home

This airconditioned bedsitter apartment has a lovely terrace with sensational sea views. The apartment is located in lovely old rural hamlet, surrounded by olive and citrus groves. Tastefully restored to retain its traditional character, wonderful place to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the surrounding area.

Interior: the bedsitter apartment has a large double bed on the right and on the left a tastefully decorated bathroom and corner kitchen.

Exterior: french doors from the bedroom area lead onto the terrace, where there's a table and chair that one can sit relax, enjoy the views and the amazing sunsets. Private parking next to apartment.

The Sicily region

Sicily has a massive amount of world-class art, ranging from Greek to Roman, Byzantine, Arab, Norman, French, and Spanish, and some of it enjoys the most astonishing setting, abandoned on a hillside or nestled into a deserted cove where you can come upon it so naturally that you almost think you’ve stepped into a time machine.

There is something very ancient about Sicily, more than in Rome or Ravenna or Pompeii, and the thing we like the most about it is its unpretentiousness, the matter of fact, day-to-day atmosphere that turns all this history into a landscape as natural as a prickly pear blooming alongside a country road. If you had discarded the idea of visiting this fascinating region up to now, we hope our stories and unique lodgings will provide some very good reasons to change your mind.

The Cefalu area

The location provides a unique holiday where you choose between relaxing in the countryside, swimming in the sea or walking in the mountains. Only 7 kms from the historical town of Cefalù, known for its magnificent Norman Cathedral.
Enjoy the local Sicilian cuisine in one of many traditional restaurants in nearby villages or wine tasting in one of the best-known Sicilian vineyard with its restored 12th century Saint Benedict monastery.
Boat trips available to the Aeolian Islands from the port of Cefalù, the islands can be reached within 2 ½ to 3 hours.
Whilst in the winter there is mild weather along the coast, in the mountains there is usually enough snow to enjoy some skiing in the small skiing area of Piano Battaglia (1,600 metres), a distance of 30kms.

Ryanair has cheap flights into Palermo airport which is only 1 1/2 hrs from the house.

Ferries leave from the Port of Palermo to Sardegna, Geneva, Civitavecchia, Livorno.
From the port of Cefalù which is situated 7 kms from the house, during the summer/spring seasons there's ferries to the Aeolian, travelling time of 2 1/2 hours.
