The Sicily region

Winter sports enthusiasts can ski on the slopes of both Etna and Piano Battaglia (nr Cefalu), in the winter months from December to February.
Cefalu area
Cefalu is less than an hour’s drive along the coast, east of Sicily’s capital Palermo. It has long been one of Sicily’s most beautiful and popular resorts. Walking through the historic centre of the town you will discover charming cobbled streets lined with interesting local shops and excellent restaurants. At its heart, in the town’s main square, stands the imposing Norman cathedral built in 1132 by King Roger 2nd. The huge image of Christ Pantocrator in the cathedral’s apse is remarkable. Close-by, the long stretch of sandy beach is popular with both locals and tourists, and as the sun sets over the sea, the promenade comes alive for the evening passegiata. Cefalu is not just a seaside resort, but also makes a convenient base from which to explore the interior of the island. A short drive away is the Madonie National Park, with its breathtaking mountain landscapes and picturesque hill-top villages, perfect for walking and cycling, and even for skiing in the winter months.

The villa is surrounded by large and secluded garden areas with mature beds and a large terrace for eating or lazing under the afternoon sun. A large and private roof terrance provides a perfect spot for some serious sunbathing, or for taking in the wonderful sea views, or the mountains behind Cefalu. Additionally there is an outside lavanderia equipped with washing machine and shower.
