Home description
This modern apartment is on the first-floor of a private villa located in a pretty garden setting, lovingly maintained by the villa's Sicilian owners. Access to the accommodation is via the apartment’s own private staircase. The ground floor of the property is used by the friendly and discreet owners during the summer months, and at the weekends during other times of the year.
The apartment has a light, airy feel and the ample terraces on both sides of the property provide lots of outdoor space, allowing you to enjoy the sun throughout the day and dine under the stars at night. From the large north-facing terrace there are views of the Mediterranean and nothing could be more relaxing than sitting here and enjoying the glorious sunsets with an aperativo or two.
From the south-facing terrace leading off the kitchen and main bedroom, you will awake to the dramatic scenery of the mountains of the Madonie National Park. The sandy beach is reached via a 300m stroll along the villa’s private road, and is very quiet except in the peak summer months when there is a lively Lido, Beach Club and Pizzeria.
The apartment sleeps 5 people in 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom (bunk beds) and a single sofa bed in the living area. The accommodation is ideal for familes or a group of friends.

The Sicily region
Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, famous for its breathtaking scenery, wonderful locally produced food and its incredibly friendly people. In the east towers Etna, standing at 3,320m (10,900ft) high, it’s one of the world's tallest and most active volcanoes. The beautiful Aeolian Islands are to the north and are reachable by boats which leave the small port of Cefalu daily during the summer season.
Sicily is a truly year round holiday destination. If you are a beach lover then the long summer season will be ideal for you. If mountain excursions, walks or cycling trips are more your thing, then the warm sunny spring and autumn seasons will be the ideal time. Winter sports enthusiasts can ski on the slopes of both Etna and Piano Battaglia (nr Cefalu), in the winter months from December to February.
Cefalu area
Salinelle is a peaceful residential area 40 minutes from Sicily's capital, Palermo. In the summer months the long sandy beach is home to a Kite Surfing school and a lively lido and restaurant. The beautiful resort of Cefalu is 10 minutes drive or a short train ride along the coast. Walking through Cefalu's historic centre you will discover charming cobbled streets lined with interesting local shops and excellent restaurants. At its heart, in the town’s main square, stands the imposing Norman cathedral built in 1132 by King Roger 2nd.
The huge image of Christ Pantocrator in the cathedral’s apse is remarkable. Close-by, the long stretch of sandy beach is popular with both locals and tourists, and as the sun sets over the sea, the promenade comes alive for the evening passegiata. As well as being a laid-back beach resort ,will also suit those who want a convenient base from which to explore the interior of the island. A short drive away is the Madonie National Park, with its breathtaking mountain landscapes and picturesque hill-top villages, perfect for walking and cycling in the spring and autumn, and even for skiing in the winter months.
