The Sicily region

Sicily, an Island rich in culture and history, as well as in naturalistic attractions and local traditions, offers a great variety of things to see and to do, meeting the most varied holidays' needs of its visitors.

A journey to Sicily is a journey back to the ancient times of the Romans or the Greeks which left majestic temples and monuments, or of the Arabs whose imprint you can see in the old city centre quarters, with their colorful small local shops along the narrow, stony mazes.

Rich of cultural events taking place all over the year, Sicily offers a wide range of entertainment and shows for every taste.

Cefalu

The villa is located at only 5 minutes by car from Cefalù, one of the most famous tourist destinations in western Sicily. Enclosed by the famous rocky mountain La Rocca and the blue sea bathing its coasts, the Medieval city of Cefalù is famous for its beautiful landscape, as well as, for its cathedral which stands over the mazes and the baroque buildings of the ancient city centre, animated by the many local shops and cultural events taking place all over the year. Worth of a visit is the famous Museo Mandralisca, with many renowned pieces of art, such as the famous Ritratto d'Ignoto from painter Antonello da Messina, the ancient Lavatoio Medievale, inheritance of the ancient times, the Osterio Magno, a building belonged to the Norman King Ruggero II of Sicily and today seat of cultural exhibitions, as well as, a walk along the fishermen harbor and the ancient sea-village.

Not far from the villa is the famous Madonie Natural Park, with different activities for all the tastes, both in summer, thanks to the many sports and naturalistic activities and in winter, thanks to its ski centers such as Piano Zucchi and Piano Battaglia.

Suggested, a visit to the many rural centers of the Madonie, such as Castelbuono, Polizzi Generosa, Scillato, S. Mauro Castelverde.
