About the home

This lovely cottage is about 40 sqm and it is entirely covered from a big and secular carob tree and it is 100 mt far from a wonderful very private sand beach. From the house you can hear the sea-waves and the beach is directly accessible by a pathway through the gardens. An added bonus for outdoor eating is the shaded terrace and a barbecue area where you can enjoy outdoor dining surrounded by nature.

This quaint, no fuss furnished cottage, has everything you need for a great stay in Sicily. There's one bedroom, a combined living room with a double sofa bed and a fully equipped kitchen, a tiled bathroom with stand up shower.
In the cold month you will have a nice air pellet stove with a charming fire view.
Perfect for couples or family with maximum two children.

There is no air conditioning but in this place you will hardly feel the need for it!

The cottage is settled on an estate of 26,000 sqm., a large and secret garden paradise containing groves of olive, orange and lemon, with pine trees, cypress and palm, fruit trees such as mulberry and lotus, fig, apricot and banana trees… and not least our abundant vines.

Sun loungers and canoes are provided for beach use, and a small sailing boat is available for the more adventurous. On returning from the beach, you can enjoy an external shower and a traditional-style stone basin for washing or rinsing small items.

The winter months of October and November are a time to discover the rustic delights of ancient traditions such as the olive harvest, and our utterly authentic olive oil will be directly available for you to taste.

With our home-made limoncello and our jams made using the fruits which you can freely gather yourselves, you will rediscover the simple pleasures of ingredients prepared at home.

Domestic pets including dogs are welcome, provided they of gentle disposition and friendly to humans as well as to any other animals which may be on the land!

The proprietor, who lives on the estate, is very happy to meet all of your needs to ensure that your stay will be pleasant and relaxing!

The special geographic position of Cefalu means that you have easy access to all the main areas of historical and cultural interest in Sicily, by going on excursions lasting no more than 2 hours.

Mount Etna, Taormina, Acireale and Catania and Siracusa (Unisco World Heritage Site), are about 2 hours away; the stunning and famous Greek temple and theatre at Segesta, and the Roman Villa of Casale at Piazza Armerina (also a World Heritage Site) are just 1.5 hours away; the artistic and archaeological treasures of Palermo, Monreale, Tindari are less than an hour away; the Madonne mountain range, a natural asset jealously guarded by Sicilians, with its dramatic hilltop villages like Castelbuono, Isnello and Gratteri are just half an hour’s distance.

And you will be surprised to discover that each year brings widespread snow, and you can ski at Piano Battaglia, located further inland in the Madonie.

But the real pearl is Cefalu, with its fabulous scenic panoramas and the town itself, which arose out of fishing and navigation, with which divinities, kings and adventurers all fell in love, from the ancient Goddess Diana to the Norman King Roger, and for you also it is certain to be an experience of love at first sight!

Charming and romantic restaurants abound, both here and in the neighbouring towns and villages, offering the finest traditional Sicilian food and wine, both of high quality and value.

During the high summer season the area – which attracts many visitors as do all of the fine beaches of Cefalu, offers a full array of enjoyable recreational activities, and the low season is a time to appreciate the peace and quiet of the countryside, which you will have all to yourselves.

Within easy reach are a variety of sports facilities such as tennis, golf, horse-riding etc, located under 5 km away. At a large nearby hotel you can avail of a waterpark and a wellness centre.

On the beach you can take on the more energetic sports of kite surfing or windsurfing, or you can take a short trip in a sailing boat like the Fly Junior or the Laser1, available to residents, or if you prefer there is the more relaxing option of a canoe trip to scout out the beautiful Cefalu coast.

“Delightful little cottage” Delightful little cottage, in a great location. All the write up says it is. The beach is a 2 minute stroll through a tree covered path, where there are boats for clients use. There is free run of the large estate and one can help themselves to whatever fruits are ripe. In our case, that was lemons, oranges and mulberries. If you want sun, you can have it....when that's too much then they is plenty of shade under numerous trees...including the carob of course. The supermarket is a 15 minute walk away and restaurants 5 minutes. A perfect retreat for those who just want to chill out. Dario himself is most charming, helpful and always around if needed. And do not believe him when he says his english is not good, it most certainly is.
