About the home

The bungalow is modern & well equipped, and makes an ideal base for a family holiday, or for a group of friends.

It is just a 10 minute walk from Kingsand & Cawsand, which are typical Cornish fishing/smuggling villages with narrow streets and small painted houses.

Each village has a beach, & pubs offering good local food & drink. Kingsand also marks the start of the Mount Edgcumbe Country Park with lovely walks & an interesting country house.

Whitsand Bay is more like a 15 minute walk, but offers 4 miles of sands backed by spectacular cliffs.

There is a Coop and a takeaway in Millbrook just a mile away.

The bungalow has 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms & a lounge/kitchen/dining room. On site there is a guest laundry which has 2 washing machines, 2 tumble driers, an iron & a board. In the main building there is a bar & two games rooms with pool table, bar billiards table, table football, darts, etc.

Outside the bungalow has a private garden with a BBQ & picnic bench, & views across Cawsand Bay. There is also space to park several cars next to the bungalow. In the grounds of the main house there are swings & slides, & a tennis court.

The swimming pool is in a separate building. It is 30 ft by 15 ft and is open and heated from April through September.

Conditions

A 20% non-refundable deposit is taken on booking with the balance due 28 days before arrival.

We have a ramp that allows wheelchair access to the bungalow, but inside there are no specific provisions for disabled guests, i.e. the shower is over a standard bath, there are no grab handles, the kitchen worktops are standard height, etc.

The West Country / Cornwall region

The Rame peninsula is known as the forgotten corner of Cornwall - many visitors to Cornwall drive straight on by on the A38 misssing out on perhaps the quietest and most beautiful bit of Cornwall there is.

The whole area is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty (aonb), the villages are quaint and interesting, the main beach at Whitsand Bay is 4 miles long & backed by impressive cliffs, and best of all there are no big Hotels, amusement arcades or night clubs.

The Cawsand area

The main attraction on the peninsula is Mount Edgcumbe Country House and Park, which provides many and varied walks through beautiful and varied countryside, including the first stretch of the South West Coastal Path in Cornwall.

Further afield, nothing in Cornwall is very far away - the Eden project is less than an hour, as is King Arthur's Tintagel - and the big city of Plymouth is just across the Tamar river, providing all the attractions of a large city should the weather be poor.

“Comprehensively equipped, large property, with helpful owners, ideal for children” Large property, ideal for large family or 2 on holiday together, as living area is divided each side of a central Lounge/diner I have never stayed anywhere with such a comprehensive level of equipment, ideal if your family includes young children There is loads to do at the Bungalow, including a swimming pool, which was unfortunately closed as we visited in november It is also near to lots of local attractions, and close to Cawsans and Kingsand We stayed at the Bungalow whilst at a wedding at the nearby Polhawn Fort, just a few minutes away The owners are very friendly and extremely helpful I would give this an excellent review

“Excellent location, stunning views, great hosts & Clean, practical accommodation” We stayed at this location, as it was close to the Polhawn Fort, where our daughter was getting married, Wringford down farm, accommodated a large number of guests due to its versitilty, we stayed in the Sharrow Bungalow, suiting 7 Adults, Grandparents stayed in the B & B, and had a fantastic room, and other guests stayed in other parts of the Farm. We asked Sue & Andy (owners) to do breakfast on the morning of the Wedding as we didn't fancy cooking ourselves, and we had a wonderful English Breakfast. Most guests left the day after the wedding, but my Husband and I stayed an extra couple of nights, enjoying the lovely walks, and peaceful atmosphere.
