Cavtat town is an extremely beautiful seaside town. You will struggle to find anything quite like this anywhere in Europe. It is as the Mediterranean was 30 years ago. During the day you can escape the heat and relax at one of the many harbour side bars and restaurants, watching the luxury yachts arrive. Or bathe at any of the local beaches. At night, Cavtat takes on another personality and fills with people of all nationalities promenading before choosing which of the many restaurants to eat and relax in.

The Dubrovnik Riviera/Islands region
You cannot understate the beauty of this region of Croatia. The mountains that fringe the coast add a dramatic back drop to every vista. The pebble beaches ease you gently into the warm Adriatic, making it very safe for children and non-swimmers. Average temperatures for May to September are in the high twenties but day time temperatures well in excess of this can be expected.
George Bernard Shaw once remarked “If you want to see heaven on earth, come to Dubrovnik, because the beauty there will leave anyone breathless.” This beautiful ancient walled town, now a World Heritage Site, will enthral all.
No trip to this region would be complete without a boat trip to one of the many sleepy little islands.
Back in history, this region was once the main wine growing area for most of Croatia. Evidence of ancient terracing can still be seen. Today, wine making is returning once again and excellent, local wines can be found in most restaurants and shops.
Cavtat's history goes back to 300BC when the Greeks created the settlement of Epidaurus. It went on to become one of the Roman Empires most important settlements in the area. Cavtat has been rebuilt many times during in its history but still retains its ancient charm and richly deserves its title as “The most beautiful town on the Adriatic” Cavtat has moved with the times but unlike many Mediterranean towns has not sacrificed its soul.
Due to the Adriatic's exceptional clean and clear waters, this area is a must for those looking for a water sports holiday. SCUBA diving, sailing, fishing and more, are all readily available.
During the summer months you will always find local festivals and events at any one of the little towns in the region.
The largest festival in the area is the Dubrovnik Summer festival. It begins with a firework display and it ends with a firework display (Croatians love fireworks). People and celebrities from all over the world visit this, once a year, spectacle.

"Convenient location for walking/ driving/bus in a very nice town near Dubrovnik."
Directions and information provided in advance were excellent and the family owners who lived above were very helpful.
We were two couples and found it good value and with independent bedrooms/ bathrooms.
Good location on the hillside within walking distance to town and a shop/bar and bustop very close.Lots of restaurants in the town and surrounds. Lovely local beach . 45 minute by regular boat service to Dubrovnik or bus.
Location with a view of the ocean and close to Cavtat town and Dubrovnik.

"Lovely accomodation, extremely family friendly!"
The apartment had everything we needed for a family of 5. The outdoor space is great and the fig tree made an excellent climbing frame for my son! The apartment is located up a steep hill so has good views of Dubrovnik in the evening and amazing sunsets. Lilliana the owner lives above with her own beautiful family, she was a brilliant host and gave us good advice as well as making us delicious cakes! We all had a fantastic holiday, Cavtat itself is stunning and the local Croatians are very friendly and welcoming. The carnival on the last night in Cavtat was great! A procession followed by acrobats and fire eaters! We shall definetly be visiting again in the future!
