Bungalow | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 5
Our house is on a small private island in a lake on the Sierra Madre mountains just around 3 hours south of Manila, a short drive from tourist attractions in Caliraya, Pagsanjan, and Lucban towns. It's an ideal destination for couples, families, or small groups of friends seeking to escape from the frenzied pace of the metropolis--or of Tagaytay, Laiya, or Subic for that matter. With the isolation and quiet, clean mountain air, and the comfort of a rustic lake house all only a short distance from Manila, it is a perfect venue for quick weekend getaways, family picnics, barkada outings, organizational meetings, or even a small garden wedding. It is also ideal for long-term stays for those who want to finish writing a play, thesis, or novel.

The Luzon region
Our island is in a lake nestled on the scenic Sierra Madre mountain range, a short drive from famed tourist attractions in Pagsanjan, Lake Caliraya, Paete, Lucban, and others. You can retreat here after shooting the rapids in Pagsanjan, shopping for barong in Lumban, going windsurfing in Caliraya or reveling in the Pahiyas festival in Lucban. On a clear day, you can get a great view of the mystical mountain of Mount Banahaw. It can also be a rest stop for going to the beaches in Cagbalite, Quezon or further south in Calaguas, Camarines Norte. But for us, the island is an attraction in itself--a reason enough to go. When you get there, you'll find it hard to want to go anywhere else.
The island is on a quiet man-made lake--less touristy and crowded than nearby Caliraya lake. You'll notice few other neighbors--and anyway, all of them are another island away!
