Home description

Azara Villa is a pretty, single storey 2 bedroom villa set in Luisa by the Sea, a prestigious private development of individually owned villas and cottages in an amazing location on the banks of the River Sal.

The villa consists of a living room that opens out on to a plant shaded dining patio that is surrounded by a lawned, exotic colourful garden and overlooks the residents swimming pool that is only a few yards away.

In and around Cavelossim there is also a wide selection of restaurants offering plenty of choice for eating out. From locally run ones offering the freshest of todays catch to some of the best hotels in Goa where you will find international standard restaurants and evening entertainment programmes.

Why not enjoy an early breakfast at a small riverside shack and watch the sunrise? Dont forget there is always the barbecue at the shack on the beach too. Here you can unwind and relax and at the end of a hard day sunbathing and watch the sunset over the Arabian Sea. Perfect!

Azara Villa is an ideal haven for those of you in search of peace and quiet.

The Goa / West India / Goa region

Goa, on the west coast of India, has over 100 Kilometres of coastline divided between secluded bays and golden sandy beaches lapped by the warm Arabian sea. Between October and April there is unbroken sunshine with temperatures that rarely drop below 91F. The pace of life is relaxed. You can spend your evenings enjoying a sunset walk along the beach or a stroll through the street markets in safety.

Although most people come to Goa to relax and unwind there is more to Goa than just its fabulous beaches. Here are a few ideas of what Goa has to offer.

The Portuguese colonised Goa for 450 years and this unique blend of Portuguese and Indian culture is evident in its architecture, mix of religions, cuisine and social structure. There are the colonial old quarters, the magnificent Mansion Houses built at the height of the Portuguese rule and Old Goa, the old capital, built as a testament to the Portuguese wealth and power. There are wildlife sanctuaries, over 400 different species of birds, market towns, a famous flea market which attracts sellers from all over India, designer shops and why not come at Christmas and the Easter Carnival and enjoy some real Goan-style dances. The exuberant Hindu festivals of Divali and Holi are celebrated with as much enthusiasm by this multi-cultural and well-integrated society.

We want to show people that there are many interesting "things to see". Above all experience Goa by being out and about. Early morning and late afternoon are perfect times for catching that magical rural scene of bullock cart and driver ambling along country lanes or the water buffaloes having their well deserved mud baths. Watch the sun rise over the river Sal, stand at Chapora harbour and select fish for that evening's meal, fresh from the boats, go to a village festival or Zatra and most of all, meet the people who are fun loving, generous and genuinely want you to have a great holiday.

Cavelossim / Luisa by the Sea area

Sleepy Cavelossim village is located on a narrow peninsular on the one side is the peaceful, lazily meandering River Sal and on the other 20 kms of powder white sand beach and the Arabian Sea. Imagine a place where you can watch the sunrise over the river and the sunset over the sea - the perfect idyllic retreat! It comes as no surprise that this prime spot has been chosen as the location for several five star hotels including The Holiday Inn and The Leela Palace. The original fishing community is still here and small fishing boats still go out to fish everyday.
Cavelossim is a small typical Goan village with a picturesque church square and a small store and a telephone shop. There is a ferry from the village over the river to Assolna.

There is plenty of choice for eating out as some of the best hotels in Goa are located in the area and each has one or two international standard restaurants plus evening entertainment programmes. There are also a number of locally owned restaurants and there is always the barbecue at the shack on the beach.

For golfers there is a 9 hole golf course at the Leela Palace just 2 kilometres from Cavelossim. The course may be used by the hour at Rupees 450 or by purchasing a pass from 3-5 days ranging in price from Rupees 1400 - 4400 (all prices approximate plus 12% tax).

MICHAEL & SUBHENDU
As this is my return visit after a fabulous 2 week stay last year. I loved the idea to a return visit if only for 7 days this time. It was nice to re-visit the lovely beaches and return to the restaurants that remained as good as ever especially River View and Goan Village.
Linda was superb as always and looked after us well. Sami again was very helpful again.

We stayed in this villa also in 2006 and came back for the easy living and Lazy Days this year. Linda our maid took our daughter (6) to visit the school where her daughter
goes and also see how her family lives. It was a great experience for her.

This has been the longest holiday we’ve had and Lazydays made it very enjoyable for us
Always there at a moments notice to sort any hiccups. Linda has been delightful and very efficient and Sammy very charming. All the shacks by the beach as well as River View served delicious food.
Villa is very delightful clean and well maintained.
PS do not miss the view over the river at dawn!

It’s our second time to Goa but first time we have stayed in Cavelossim.
Azara Villa is lovely nice and peaceful enabling us to have a nice relaxing holiday. People are very friendly and eager to please.
Restaurants were good, the best ones we visited were “Walk-in” “Mikes Place” “Get Down” and “Goan Village”.
Linda is very friendly, a lovely lady who made us feel very welcome and kept the villa clean and tidy.

First time in Goa & at the Villa Azra, which we found had everything we needed and Linda was particularly helpful & friendly. Good situation and the grounds are particularly well kept.
We found the “Goan Village” “Get Down” & “Jazz Inn” the best places to eat.
We made 2 boat trips up river bird (and bat) watching one at high tide & the other, at low tide in the evening, was fascinating watching the locals collecting muscles.
Would like to add that Ramesh the tailor/dressmaker down by the Jazz inn is very good and very reasonably priced.

Our stay at Villa Azra was great! The villa was very clean and tidy thanks to Linda coming in on a daily basis. The pool is very nice and not over crowded which was very relaxing and is well looked after by all the ground staff along with the surrounding gardens.
Cavelossim is great with a lovely beach, good restaurants and very friendly people. “The Goan Village” is the best place to eat in the area and the beach shacks are also good.
I would recommend a trip to Palolem which is further south - it is paradise, a palm lined beach with no hotels, just beach cabanas with bars and parties and great sunsets, it is for the younger person.
This was our first trip to Goa and it won’t be our last we enjoyed it very much. Two weeks isn’t enough time here to see everything.
Lazydays were great we never had any problems, we will recommend you to our friends.
Thanks to Sue, Azra and a special thanks to Linda who looked after us very well.
