About the area
While Happy Valley is famous for its racetrack, developments in the area contain an interesting combination and range of new high-rise blocks and traditional older-style low-rise apartments and houses, together with some serviced apartments for short-term accommodations. Properties located near the hill-foot may enjoy spectacular city views or racecourse views. While those on the hillside have views over magnificent mountains, city, harbour and racetrack.
Residents could shop at local shops and restaurants or take a bus or minibus to the business and entertainment district of Causeway Bay which is only 5-minute drive away. Public transport is mainly located on Wong Nai Chung Gap Road. Some developments have their own recreational facilities while members of the Hong Kong Jockey Clubhouse could enjoy exclusive club house facilities nearby. Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital on Village Road has a good reputation. While the French and Japanese International Schools cater for schoolchildren of these ethnic groups.
Causeway Bay, undoubtedly is one of the most popular shopping districts in Hong Kong. Causeway Bay was named after a former causeway from Hong Kong Island to Kellett Island that no longer exists due to gradual land reclamation. Its Chinese name, Tung Lo Wan (Copper Gong Bay) refers to the bay's contoured shape and its resemblance to a gong.
Once a warehouse district, Causeway Bay has grown to become a densely built, busier area of Hong Kong with large, predominantly local crowds and dense vehicular traffic. The streets are filled with a mixture of commercial, residential and retail buildings. Cars fill the main roads and busy motorways fly through the air. Huge billboards and neon signs canopy Percival Street, as well as a large number of scaffolding structures, making it a good idea to watch your head when manoveuvring the crowded footpaths. This constant activity ensures that is never a dull moment in Causeway Bay.

The Hong Kong region
Hong Kong is a special administrative region (SAR) of the People's Republic of China (PRC). It is situated on China's south coast and, enclosed by the Pearl River Delta and South China Sea, it is known for its expansive skyline and deep natural harbour. With a land mass of 1,104 km2 (426 sq mi) and a population of seven million people, Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated areas in the world.Hong Kong's population is 95 percent ethnic Chinese and 5 percent from other groups. Hong Kong's Han Chinese majority originate mainly from the cities of Guangzhou and Taishan in the neighbouring Guangdong province
As one of the world's leading international financial centres, Hong Kong has a major capitalist service economy characterised by low taxation and free trade, and the currency, Hong Kong dollar, is the eighth most traded currency in the world. The lack of space caused demand for denser constructions, which developed the city to a centre for modern architecture and the world's most vertical city.Hong Kong has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world. The dense space also led to a highly developed transportation network with public transport travelling rate exceeding 90 percent, the highest in the world. Hong Kong has numerous high international rankings in various aspects. For instance, its economic freedom, financial and economic competitiveness, quality of life, corruption perception, Human Development Index, etc., are all ranked highly.According to both UN and WHO estimates, Hong Kong has the longest life expectancy of any country in the world from 2012.
