The Vista Montagna apartment complex is ideally located with just a 5 minute walk to the main beach and the many bars, shops, restaurants and supermarkets in the main town of Caulonia. The complex has a secure gated entrance with telephone entry system. There is a large communal swimming pool exclusive to Vista Montagna guests and the complex is surrounded by newly planted green shrubs and trees. The complex is regularly occupied with owners and guests from the UK and other parts of Europe which provides for a friendly community feel to your holiday.

2 bedrooms, 1 with double bed and the other with 2 single beds. In addition, there is a sofa bed in the lounge. All bedrooms have wardrobes, mirrors, bedside cabinets, lamps and sea views. There is an open plan lounge/kitchen with TV, DVD, Dining table and 6 chairs and modern kitchen with all the necessary cooking utensils. A patio door leads out of the kitchen onto a balcony where you have direct view of the sea. There is a dining table on the balcony where you can sit, relax and enjoy the sea view over a glass of Chianti.

Apartment is in a secure gated development and has a dedicated parking space. There is a communal swimming pool area with shower facilities if you want to just relax and take in the sunshine.
Outside of the complex the main town of Caulonia and beach are just a 5 minute walk away. There you will find many beach bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets. The town comes alive during lunchtime and evenings as locals come out to dine with their families and friends.
There is a weekly street market on a Saturday morning with a wide range of fashion/clothes at discount prices.
The town has good transport links and is on a rail line going south to Reggio Di Calabria and northwards towards Catanzaro.
The Federico bus service also goes through the town with the local fare approx €1 per journey. Coach tours are also available to the local Calabrian sites of Gerace/Locri/Scilla/Reggio di Calabria/Tropea/Pizzo.Childrens Park with slides plus football facilities also public park nearby.ATM 200 meters.

€70 final cleaning fee is payable to complex manager on departure.#

The Southern Italy / Calabria region


Calabria is a region in Southern Italy. It's considered the Caribbean of Europe thanks to its pristine beaches, stunning landscape, and rustic charms. Hillside towns, ancient Greek temples and Byzantine churches dot the countryside of Italy's best kept secret.
The region's climate is mild in the winter, with hot, dry summers. The region is surrounded on three sides by the Mediterranean Sea: the Ionian Sea is to the east, the Tyhrrenean to the west and the Strait of Messina to the south. As such, the sea is a big part of the region's culture and cuisine.
The region boasts some incredible scenary due to it's mountainous landscape. Three mountain ranges are present: Pollino, La Sila and Aspromonte. All three mountain ranges are unique with their own flora and fauna.
In general, most of the lower terrain in Calabria has been agricultural for centuries, and exhibits indigenous scrubland as well as introduced plants such as the prickly pear cactus. The lowest slopes are rich in vineyards and citrus fruit orchards. The Diamante citron is one of the citrus fruits. Moving upwards, olives and chestnut trees appear while in the higher regions there are often dense forests of oak, pine, beech and fir trees.
The climate is influenced by the mountainous and hilly relief of the region: cold in the area of Monte Pollino, temperate with a very limited temperature range in the area of Aspromonte, while the Sila and Serre massifs ensure greater humidity on the Tyrrhenian coast and a drier climate on the Ionian coast.
The Caulonia / Marina di Caulonia area
Marina Di Caulonia is a traditional, quaint little town with excellent bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets which are all within 5 minutes walking distance from the apartment. The following are just some of the nice places to eat and drink in Caulonia :-
EXCLUSIVE RESTAURANT: above the supermarket on the left hand side as you come into Caulonia from Roccella. (excellent seafood and quite formal)
BLUE TANGO: beach front restaurant (excellent seafood)
La Chacarita: beach front restaurant next to campsite (meat, seafood, pizza)
RANCH SOUND STEAKHOUSE: on the main road leaving Caulonia (excellent steak and chips)
PALMA D'ORO : on the road going past vista sila in the direction of Caulonia Superiore
Le Colonne: Excellent restaurant in Caulonia Superiore and very reasonable
MOJO PIN: Inside the grounds of Hotel Tassone (food and live music)
KURU PAY: beach front - restaurant/nightclub
IGUANA: beach front - restaurant/nightclub
LA TRATTORIA DEL PESCE: excellent fish restaurant near ranch sound
SNACK BAR on corner of road going up to Caulonia Superiore - home made cooking
Restaurant opposite Moonlight bar - Good Pizzas
Pizzeria Elia - opposite supermarket - nice outdoor area
New restaurant opening Thursday on the seafront.
IMBARCADERO - going towards Stignano
If you find any other good restaurants, Please post them on forum.
In addition there are many bars, restaurants, shops in the nearby towns of Rocella and Marina Di Gioiosa Ionica which are just a short drive from the apartment complex.

The apartment is located about 1hr 15 minutes drive from Lamezia Terme airport. There are direct flights from the UK from London Stansted with Ryanair and from London Gatwick with Monarch Airlines.
Alternatively, you can from from any major airport to Rome and then take an internal flight with Alitalia to Lamezia Terme.
You will also need to arrange a hire car or a return transfer. There are many car rental websites that offer great deals on car rental with satellite navigation. All you need to do is punch in the apartment address and select one of two wonderful scenic routes that will take you directly to the Apartment complex.

Thank you for allowing me and my wife the priviledge of staying in your wonderful apartment in Caulonia. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and modern feel of the apartment complex as well as the apartment itself with its contemporary modern furnishings and modern comforts. In addition, we found the place conveniently located with just a short walk to the lovely beach, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. Only drawback was we gained a few pounds due to over indulgence on pizza, pasta and Moretti beer. Great value holiday away from the poor British summer. Manu and Dhani |

We stayed here for a week in August. The appartment was lovely, well furnished and very well presented. Vista Montagne is 2 minutes walk from the beach and the town centre. Everything about the holiday was brilliant - very sad to come home |
