Situated on a hillside above the charming village of Çatalköy, not on an estate but only approx. 1 mile to village, the villa enjoys spectacular views to Kyrenia, the sea and mountains from the 3 villa terraces, pool terraces and gardens, all set in approx. 1/3 acre. All bedrooms have dual air con/heating. Bed 1 with patio doors onto rear terrace overlooking pool/gardens and mountain view. The south facing roman ended pool with its extensive terracing and BBQ patio can all be accessed from the front lounge, kitchen/dining room and master bedroom.

The Kyrenia District

North Cyprus benefits from the most pleasing climate in Europe with temperatures in Sept/Oct still wonderfully warm, rarely below 80°. This is an enchanting destination with fairytale castles, Bellapais Abbey, Kyrenia's ancient and beautiful harbour, but without the mass tourism experienced in the south and other parts of the med. Bellapais is where Gerald Durrell wrote his famous "Bitter Lemons of Cyprus". Bellapais Abbey is also the venue for classical music recitals, particularly in Sept,Oct. The Crusader St Hilarion Castle was the inspiration for Walt Disney's "Sleeping Beauty". It is a delight to stroll around Kyrenia's horseshoe-shaped harbour and castle at night when lit up and soak up the atmosphere, sit with a local brandy sour watching the world go by or eat at a waterfront table.

Catalkoy area

Çatalköy beach with beach bar, loungers and parasols for hire, diving board into Sea, only 5 minute drive. Acapulco complex with all facilities and water sports only 10 min drive. Numerous other coves and beaches within 10 minute drive. Village shops, supermarket, restaurants,Bank approx 1 mile.

Superb new Korineum Golf and Country Club only 10 min drive towards Esentepe
Water park,horse riding – Çatalköy. Ice Rink - Dogankoy, Bowling - Ozankoy (both approx 10 mins) Pleasure/fishing cruises/paragliding - Kyrenia, Golf - 10 min drive towards Esentepe, Walking, Unspoilt Karpas Peninsula, Quad biking – approx. 20 minute drive at Lapta. Lefkosa (Nicosia) approx 30 min drive.

Various restaurants in Çatalköy, on coast road, and in next village (Ozanköy). The area generally and Kyrenia itself are well served by restaurants serving a wide range of cuisines.

How to get there

Flights
3 airlines fly to Northern Cyprus (Ercan airport) from the UK. Turkish airlines fly all year round, daily from Heathrow and Manchester. Cyprus Turkish airlines (CTA) fly from Heathrow, Stansted and Manchester all year and and some other regional airports during the summer, and Pegasus Airlines from Stansted. More choice of flights available to Larnaca in Southern Cyprus from additional UK airports. Transfer time from Ercan Airport to the villa is approximately 30 minutes, and is free if car hire for at least one week is booked through our recommended operator. Transfers from Larnaca across the border are approx. 90 mins and cost £35 each way through our operator even if a car is rented from them.
