About the home

Azure is a beautiful 3 bedroom property with private pool that has an enviable elevated position with uninterrupted spectacular views down to the Mediterranean Sea and Kyrenia with the backdrop of the mountains behind. On a small private development of only six villas.

The villa is situated approximately four miles east of Kyrenia. Conveniently placed between the villages of Catalkoy and Ozankoy which offer a wide variety of restaurants and local shops. The Catalkoy riding school is just below the villa and the nearest sandy beach is just a five minute drive away.

Facilities

The villa is tastefully decorated to a high standard.
The sitting room has a quadruple aspect which maximises the natural light and offers cross ventilation.
An open fire place and travertine floors which both compliment the ground floor.
The dining area has views to the mountains, as does the fully equipped kitchen.
There is also a downstairs cloakroom with toilet and washbasin.

The master bedroom upstairs has three feature arched windows with stunning views. A king-size bed, bedroom furniture and fitted wardrobes. The large en suite bathroom has a glass shower cubicle, washbasin and toilet.

The second bedroom has a double bed, bed side tables, dressing table and fitted wardrobes, with two windows which look out to the mountains. Bedroom three has two single beds, bedroom furniture and fitted wardrobes with three windows again looking to the mountains.

There is a door on the landing leading to the roof terrace which offers an alternative sun bathing area, or better still and evening drink.

To the west is the view of the remains of the famous and ancient Belapais Abbey, said to be the most impressive Gothic building in Cyprus. A fantastic site when illuminated in the evening.

There is a large private overflow swimming pool, ( a slight gradient from 1.2 to 1.5 metres), accessed by steps going into the pool.

For your relaxation sun-loungers with cushions, tables and parasols are provided, there is also an outdoor pool shower for your convenience.

The pool can be illuminated in the evening with underwater lighting.

BBQ with food preparation area and lighting, patio area with table and chairs for that al fresco dining.

Terraces to the front and rear of the villa accessible from the 5 patio doors, all with lighting for the evenings.

Mature gardens to all sides, driveway parking area and a stone wall surronds the property with a gated entrance.

Further details

A deposit of 25% of the total rental is payable on booking. Please note that the villa will not be taken off the market until this is received.
A receipt of your deposit will be acknowledged by return. The full balance is payable 8 weeks prior to your start date.
A fully refundable breakages/security bond of £150 is required. This will be returned to you within 10 working days after the end of your stay, subject to a satisfactory inspection by our property management team.

Kyrenia castle and harbour

The Kyrenia region

Northern Cyprus enjoys the lovely Mediterranean climate with over 300 days of sunshine a year. North Cyprus brims with European Heritage Sites spanning some 9,000 years of history, from Gothic churches and Crusader castles, to ancient Roman and Greek temples, ruined abbeys and British colonial buildings.

The food is a tasty fusion of eastern and western cultures with kebabs, vegetarian meze and grilled fish featuring strongly on menus, often served under ageing olive trees or against a turquoise coastal backdrop.
Hospitality and generosity are strong traditions in North Cyprus, so visitors are warmly welcomed. There are plenty of colourful festivals to join in with.

The Venetian built harbour in Kyrenia, reputed to be the finest in the Mediterranean is lined with restaurants and pavement cafes. Visitors can enjoy unhurried dining without the noisy crowds and all night clubbing of larger Mediterranean holiday resorts. A visit to Belapais and the abbey is a must, as is St. Hilarion Castle for the spectacular views from the top.

There are many beaches and coves scattered around the coast. Club Acapulco and Escape Beach Club have plenty to offer, both have a bar/restaurant and the Acapulco has a water park for young families.

For other outdoor activities choose from scuba diving, gulet crusing, snorkelling, paragliding, Jeep safaris, bird watching and horse riding. Hiking the island's trails is popular especially on guided wild flower and orchid walks in the spring.

The Korineum Golf and Country Club is a 20 minute drive away and is a championship standard 18 hole par 72 course. There is also a driving range and academy with full length practice holes. Day passes are available for visitors.

The Catalkoy area

There are local shops for fresh milk/bread etc. On the main coast road there are numerous supermarkets selling anything that you would need. Also the locals sell their beautiful fresh vegetables and fruit on the road side.

There are many restaurants in Catalkoy and neighbouring villages, these vary from local cuisine to Indian, Chinese and Italian to mention a few. All are to a high standard and reasonably priced.

Catalkoy beach, only a five minute drive away has a beach bar, sun lounger and parasols for hire. The coast line is dotted with many coves. Heading towards Esentepe is Turtle Beach. During the summer months between the hours of 9pm and 5am the beach is protected to allow the turtles onto the beach to lay their eggs.
It is possible to book a sleep on the beach to see the turtles coming to lay their eggs. The beach is used by visitors and locals alike during the day.

By Cyprus Turkish Airlines, Turkish Airlines and Pegasus
Transfer time from Ercan to the villa is approximately 30 minutes

Or Larnaca (Southern Cyprus)
Cheap flights from BA, Monarch, First Choice, Thompsons, Thomas Cook or Cyprus Airlines.
(We normally look on a flight comparison site).
Transfer from Larnaca across the border is approximately 80/90 minutes to the villa, (nice way to see a little more of Cyprus).

“perfect place for a super holiday” when we booked the villa we found the whole experience from start to finish to be very straight forward. all communication was done by e-mail, and the owner could not have been more helpful. we were asked if we would like a hire car and airport transfers arranged. when we arrived at the villa we found the key in the pre-arranged place, there was a welcome pack which saw us through to the next morning. the villa lived up to all expectations, it is very well maintained with 3 good sized bedrooms, and air conditioning in all rooms, we found the villa to be very spacious and comfortable, and the views from the villa are stunning, especially the sunset. the swimming pool is fabulous and is cleaned twice a week. there are plenty of shops to buy your daily shopping, and the nearest taverna is about half a mile away from the villa, so you do need transport to get you about.

“Simply devine.” Azure was beautifully located with views of the mountains to the back and Kyrenia to the front. Extremely quiet and peaceful. Villa was very well equipped with everything you needed and very clean and spacious. The pool was just what was needed for those very hot days. The local shops catered for everyone and the local restaurents were very friendly and reasonably priced. Azure was made for the perfect holiday - Look forward to our return journey:0

6 - 16 July 2008 - We have never experienced such a wonderful, well equipped villa. There was nothing we missed or could have wished for to make our holiday better. The pool was used 3/4 times daily. We climbed St Hilarion Castle, Buffavento. Wonderful places to eat in the evenings. The Ambiance restaurant - unforgettable. Bellapais Abbey floodlit-wonderful, both meals fantastic. Well be Back!!!

10 - 24 June 2008 - A fantastic villa which had everything that we needed. This is our second visit and we will be back! We had two weeks of glorious sunshine, luxurious living and fine dining.

A welcome pack is included offering basic things to get you started it also includes beers and wine.

The villa, pool and gardens are all maintained by our English property manager. She will call on the first morning of your stay and is on hand throughout should you need her. A mobile phone is at the villa for you convenience, this can be topped up at the supermarket.

On two week stays the villa will have a mid stay clean, all linen and towels will be replaced (No beach/pool towels available)

This is a no smoking villa for the comfort and safety of other guests, smokers are welcome provided smoking is on the outside terraces.

Please note older guests welcome but front access steps makes it unsuitable for disabled or infirm

Guests must provide their own holiday insurance cover
