Cottage 2
About the home
Our cottages are welcoming and cosy, offering all the character of a traditional old cottage with all the modern convenience you expect from a luxury escape. We aim to provide not just self catering accommodation, but a country living experience that feels like home, where you can bring your dog and walk out your door into the countryside undisturbed by traffic and let time stand still. On your return stop by the vegetable plot and pick some veggies, collect some eggs and retreat to snuggle up around the fire or head out for a pint down the local Mary Ann's.
Whatever you want to get out of your holiday break, be it peace and quiet or full on adventure, we hope to accommodate you!

Further details outdoors:
A work in progress, our garden is constantly evolving. Not only ebbing and flowing with the seasons but we are trying to create our own little paradise, despite the weather!
The gardens are a mix of old and new, with mature native spieces trees lining the meandering drive and new features such as our ornamental pond furnished with coi and the odd goldfish, there is also a healthy batch of frogs and newts to be found if you have the patience to sit and wait.
We have concentrated on getting our kitchen garden up and running, we now have two (bursting to the brim) tunnels growing a selection of vegetables from spring carrotts and lettace to summer tomatos and cucumbers. Outside in the kitchen garden we have every vegetable imaginable growing all neatly laid out in raised beds. We have a young fruit garden within the Vegetable plot that bears apples, raspberries, currents and strawberries (not that we ever see a strawberry as the children get there first!).
In addition to this we grow and cut Vintage flowers for retail, catering to weddings and parties. Growing a variety of spieces such as asters, dahlia, larkspur, cosmos, delphiniums and roses to name but a few. Not only is the purfume as you walk into the garden intoxicating but to pick a posie and put it on your table to compliment the fresh vegetables you have just picked is a rare treat!
Just a hop from the vegetable plot are our busy free range hens who are only too happy to provide you with fresh eggs for your breakfast in exchange for some of your food scraps (fair exchange is no robbery!).
Yet to come are some piglets which we hope to raise in our aim towards self sufficency, though some might find themselves in permenant residency.
