The County Derry region
Northern Ireland's famous north coast has much to offer the traveller. From the breathtaking Giant's Causeway to historic Dunluce castle. Portstewart, Portrush and Castlerock are all accesible each having their own beach and charm unique to a seaside town.
For the more energetic tourist why not hike Benevenagh (the property is nestled at the foot of these cliffs) or perhaps a round of golf at the world famous Royal Portrush, Portstewart or the Roe valley courses. Magilligan is 10km away where you can catch a ferry to magestic Donegal.

Downhill cottage is also ideal for anyone wishing to travel to the many events the North Coast has to offer. Events such as , The northwest 200, for motor cycle enthusiasts; The Jazz and Danny Boy festivals in Limavady; the Milk Cup in Coleraine and the Halloween Fireworks in Londonderry.
Castlerock area
Downhill beach, on your doorstep, is the longest beach in Ireland (10km) and is great for walking, surfing, sea angling and sandcastle building. The Downhill estate is the former residence of the last bishop of Derry. It tops the cliffs opposite the cottage. The property now belongs to the national trust.
You can explore the ruins of the bishop's house, visit the Mussenden temple (a former library perched on the very edge of the cliff) and wander through the old gardens and paths of Downhill forest. Horseriding and pottery painting is within walking distance.
How to get there
Northern Ireland is easily accesible from mainland UK and Europe. Ryanair, Aer Lingus. Easyjet and BMI all provide regular service to all NI airports.
