About the home

Situated just 50 yards from the 2nd green at Castlerock Golf course, and five minutes from the beach. Views to the sea and golf course. An ideal base from which to explore the Causeway Coast and Donegal. We have seven EU Blue Flag beaches and four fantastic golf courses within a short drive - all are in the top 100 UK / I golf courses.

The house was refurbished recently and is decorated and furnished to a very high standard throughout. Spacious lounge /dining area with HD TV and DVD player, Broadband / WiFi, wood burning stove, and a range of books, DVDs and board games. Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, large fridge / freezer, and microwave. Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Four bedrooms – two twin, one double and one with bunks. Three bathrooms, two ensuite. Large south facing garden with outdoor table and BBQ. Large Games Room with table tennis and pool tables.

Tourist board accredited for the special welcome schemes for walkers, cyclists, anglers, golfers and surfers, including the provision of storage / drying facilities, plus information about local facilities and suppliers.

From the front Atlantic Golf Lodge looks like a bungalow, but has two storeys. Upstairs we have the very spacious lounge and open plan dining area, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, two of which are ensuite, and the main bathroom. Downstairs we have one bedroom and our fantastic Games Room.

UPSTAIRS - the Lounge / dining area is very spacious, and has good views out to the rolling hills behind Castlerock. It has a large HD TV with HD Satellite and a DVD player, a music system, broadband / WiFi, and lovely wood burning stove. There is a collection of reading books, DVDs, and board games for your enjoyment. The dining table comfortably seats 8 people. The lounge / dining room has good views to the south and over the rolling hills.

The Kitchen opens out into the lounge so you can see right through – ideal for entertaining. The kitchen has all new appliances - cooker with double electric oven and hob, large fridge / freezer, dishwasher, and microwave. We have provided more than the tourist board requirements to ensure you have everything you need, including items such as lazy-susans for entertaining and a wine cooler. The separate Utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Bedroom 1 – Mussenden – is a twin bed set up with ensuite bathroom. This bedroom is front facing with a view to the road and golf course. The twin bed configuration can be adjusted to double or singles format. The bedroom has two bedside pedestals, a dressing table / work station with mirror and hair dryer, and separate chest of drawers and wardrobe. The ensuite has a shower cubicle, toilet and wash hand basin.

Bedroom 2 – Inishowen – is a twin bed set up with ensuite bathroom. This bedroom is front facing with a view to the road and golf course. The twin bed configuration can be adjusted to double or singles format. The bedroom has two bedside pedestals, a dressing table / work station with mirror and wardrobe containing shelving and hanging space.

Family bathroom – has bath / shower, heated towel rail, wash hand basin and toilet.

Bedroom 3– Bannview – has a double bed, and is rear facing, with views over to the hills. This bedroom has bedside pedestals, a dressing table / work station and wardrobe.

DOWNSTAIRS
Bedroom 4 – Summit – is rear facing with a view to the garden. It is set up with bunk beds and has a chest of drawers, and adjoining open wardrobe space. This room is more suitable for children or one adult. Outside this room is an open space that can be used flexibly e.g. chill zone for teenagers, or a quiet place to read or work.

Games Room – the Games Room has a full size table tennis table, junior snooker / pool table and a darts board. Double doors open out to the rear garden and the room also provides extensive floor space for storing golf buggies and for drying golf clothes and wetsuits.

Garden – there is an extensive rear garden with picnic table for outdoor dining, and parking for several cars. We provide a gas barbeque for your use. The front garden has an ornamental layout.

Comfort and safety. As the Lodge has been refurbished in 2011 we have provided everything to maximise your comfort, including high pressure showers, broadband & WiFi, oil central heating and the wood burning stove. We have provided a large range of books, family games and DVDs as well as useful home touches such as a picnic basket. The house has extensive safety features including window latches on upstairs windows, heat detectors and a carbon monoxide alarm. We provide a Welcome Pack and freshly laundered bed linen, towels, tea towels and central heating, plus highchair and travel cot, if required - all included in the rental charge.

Further details outdoors:
For outdoor dining we have provided a dining table and gas BBQ. For golfers, walkers, cyclists and surfers we have provided a hose for washing down wetsuits, outdoor gear and golf buggies.

1. We can be flexible on the start date for most of the year.
2. 30% of rental fee due at point of booking to secure booking.
3. Balance of rental fee due 6 weeks before stay.
4. Refundable breakages deposit of £150 required on payment of balance, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).

The Causeway Coastal Route is seen as one of the most outstanding scenic car touring drives in the world featuring the Giant's Causeway. We are well placed for exploring both the Causeway Coast and Donegal, and have 7 magnificent golden sand beaches - all EU Blue Flag rated - within 20 minutes drive. We also have 4 golf courses within a short drive which are in the top 100 UK / Ireland golf courses - Ballyliffin, Castlerock, Portstewart, and Royal Portrush.

We are also well placed for walking, cycling and surfing holidays.

The Castlerock area

Castlerock has a good beach, the golf course, and the magnificent Mussenden Temple, which is part of the National Trust estate at Downhill - all within a short walk. Within a short drive we have a large number of leisure activities available - gliding, zorbing, hovercrafting, and angling. We are also an ideal base for the Northwest 200 motorcycle race, the Milk Cup football tournament, and Causeway Coast Amateur Golf Tournament.

Castlerock is on the Causeway Coast and is about 1 hour from 3 airports (City of Derry, Belfast City, and Belfast International). Many low cost airlines serve these airports. It will take less time to fly from London than to drive to Cornwall !! This is a real alternative to Cornwall.

“Very well equipped and comfortable house” Had a great stay at Atlantic Lodge in Castlerock. The house had everything we needed, the games room provided hours of entertainment and the tv, internet and wood burning stove made this a home away from home. Communication with the owner was great and I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

“Fantastic - what you see is what you get - plus a little bit more!” As a party of 7 we all travelled to Atlantic Golf Lodge. Our first time staying in Castlerock. The house is literally a 2 minute walk to the beach and a 10 minute drive into Coleraine. The house itself was absolutely fab. Everything you could think of needing was there. Immaculately clean and despite a very cold end of October the house was always snug and warm with loads of warm water. Thoroughly recommend the house and will definitely be back.

“Fabulous” I spent a weekend in this house with my family and was delighted with the whole experience.The facilities were second to none and the games room was superb,Everything was spotless and cosy and we really enjoyed the logfire.I would certainly book this house again and also have no hesitation in recommending it. The location of this house is fantastic and very easy to find.

“Home from home” Recently returned from a trip to Northern Ireland. Castlerock an ideal location to visit the Causeway coast which is both wild and beautiful. Atlantic Lodge ticked all the boxes. Visited with my husband, elderly mother and a friend, 3 double bedrooms with 3 bathrooms all on one level was ideal. Didn't make much use of the bedroom downstairs or the games room but ideal for a family or two. The accommodation was spacious, well appointed and equipped to a high standard. We travelled up the Antrim coast and over on the ferry to Inishowen. A must is the view from Binevengah over Lough Foyle and Magillian point. Both Londonderry and Belfast are well worth a visit. My husband would like to return and try out the golf, I might just have to try out belly boarding! Thank you for a memorable holiday and we will return.

“Fanatastic home to come back to after a great day's walking” We stayed at the Atlantic Golf Lodge for three days whilst we walked the Antrim coast. Both the house and the walks were perfect. We could step out of the door and walk along white sandy beaches for miles. We also walked big sections of the coastal path, taking in the Giants Causeway, numerous historic sites and plenty of good Irish hospitality. The Atlantic Gold Lodge provided a warm, comfortable, immaculate, well-equipped and tastefully furnished home-from-home. It deserves all of its five stars. The welcome pack is indeed most welcoming and the information pack provides a mine of useful information about things to do in the area, including great restaurants. And the fast and free broadband was invaluable. We will definitely return.

“detailed description accurately describes the excellent facilities” Only stayed two nights so did not get chance to take advantage of the many facilities than have thoughtfully been provided. House is perfectly located for the golf course with views overlooking the countryside behind. The fourth bedroom is as described and quite basic, being only suitable for one adult. It is located downstairs next to the boiler. Remainder of house is well furnished and in excellent condition. Plently of parking space, but if you have more than one car, I would leave the other on the street, which is fine.

“FIVE STAR ACCOMODATION IN A FIVE STAR LOCATION” Atlantic Golf Lodge is a beautifully furnished spacious property which comfortably accomodated four adults and four children. The kitchen is very well equipped to cater for large numbers with everything you need and more. We appreciated the wi-fi which allowed us to book the cinema and bowling alley in Coleraine on two wet days and our tickets for the Rathlin Island ferry.(A must do trip.) Grand-dad and grandson had a great mornings fishing at Castlerock fish farm, catching some rainbow trout. We also had great days out at The Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle and Bushmills. The Whisky tour was out but a lovely place to look around, where we saw some very original art work on the shop fronts, and a fabulous riverway. The kids loved all the beaches and everyone had a great time.We all hope to return again sometime.

“Peaceful home from home” We had a wonderful family holiday in this large, Clean, comfortable, nicely furnished, well equipped holiday home. The house is right in Castlerock village on a quiet street within a few minutes walk of the local shop, cafe, beach, train station and pub. We all slept soundly in the comfortable beds after days spent horse riding, bodyboarding and exploring the lovely North Coast area and evenings spent playing games in the garden, games room or watching movies on the huge TV. The kitchen was well kitted out for cooking and we ate around the large family dining table. We shopped in the large Sainsburys at Coleraine and had some lovely meals out in local restaurants. The house has an excellent information guide, wifi for using your own computers and mobile phones, and everything you could need for a great family holiday. The communication with the owner is very good and there is a lovely local lady to hand in Castlerock. The train runs along the back of the huge garden, but it is not annoying. In fact, I miss the sound, and the lovely view from the living room window.

“Wonderful stay at the Atlantic Golf Lodge!” We stayed last weekend for a long weekend and found the house brilliant for all ages, there were 9 of us grandparents, parents and children. The children really loved the games room and the location of the house is ideal with just a short stroll to the beach, train station and golf course. It was great having 3 bathrooms and the kitchen was really well equipped. We found the owner and lady who maintains the house to be very prompt in responding to us, helpful and flexible. The beds were very comfy and living area great for entertaining a family group. Would definitely return to this property but hopefully next time it won't rain so much!! At least plenty to do indoors with the games room.

“Perfect for a family” An exile from Coleraine, I like to take my family home to remind them of their roots. We are now at the third generation. Our party comprised 5 adults and our three grandchildren and the house accomodated us perfectly in comfortable, tasteful rooms with more than adequate bathroom space. Being of the internet generation, the children and their parents expect good broadband connections - which they had - and the kids thoroughly enjoyed the games room. All in all we had a very enjoyable week and cannot recommend the Atlantic Golf Lodge highly enough.

“very comfortable well equipped lodge, in a great location to explore this beautiful part of the world” My family and I have just returned from a fantastic 3 night break at the Atlantic Golf Lodge. The lodge was everything it was purported to be .. comfortable, very well equipped, tasteful décor, a real home from home. Set in a quiet street but within walking distance of a delightful golden sandy beach (5-10 mins max!) and within easy reach of some of Northern Ireland's most amazing landmarks and tourist attractions. We were most fortunate to have great weather and spent most of out time out and about enjoying the area and the food. Tip to others visiting .. plan ahead. We'd been strongly advised to take the costal road from the airport and while I would highly recommend it as it is stunningly beautiful, I hadn't fully appreciate how much it would add to our journey time. Not a problem on the way to the lodge but it would have been a disaster if we'd planned it for on the way back to the airport. Also we would have like to have visited the new Titanic exhibition but unfortunately it had sold out.. if you really want to go book ahead.

“A wonderful, comfortable, bright spacious and welcoming house to stay in..” I stayed at the Atlantic Golf Lodge & I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. It was my first time travelling to the North, I travelled as part of a golfing group, we included two couples & our children & three other adult golfers. The house was big, warm, spacious, well equipped & idealy located in Castlerock, 5min walk to beach, golfcourse on the doorstep, shops, chemist, train station, tourist info shop just round the corner & the people were so nice & welcomming. I highly reccomend staying here & I definately will be going back & staying in this house again....

“Fantastic place to stay for golf group” We stayed at Atlantic Lodge recently for a golf tournament. We filled the house to capacity, with 2 families and 3 separate golfers. I cannot recommend this house highly enough. It was spacious enough to ensure that none of us felt we were in each other's way. It was clean and bright. The games room downstairs kept a lot of people occupied during the bad weather. The welcome pack was very welcome, with all the necessities we needed to settle in, down to the can of Guinness! Also in the house were board games, DVD's and books to pass the time away if the weather was bad. There were also sand buckets, wellies and golf umbrella's supplied. Also supplied was plenty of tourist information on the area. The location of the house was fantastic – just 2 mins walk from the center of the village, and beach and just around the corner from the second green on the golf course.

“fantastic part of the world” we stayed in Atlantic Lodge as part of a golf group playing in a tournament in Castlerock golf club .the group staying in the house was made up of 2 couples with children and 3 other adults.this house was ideal ,very spacious and comfortable and the games room was ideal for both young and old.the house is very central in Castlerock only a short walk to the beach,shops and golf course.the 2nd Green is visible from the front door of the house the Golf course itself is a fantastic course well worth a visit .We Will definitively be back . “Good accommodation and well equipped for a relaxing stay...” We stayed in August 2011 as a group of extended family; parents, 3 children, grandparents & an aunt. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable for 8 people with a fully equipped kitchen and 3 bathrooms in total. Very importantly when it rains (as it often does in our beautiful country) is the provision of a Games Room, wireless broadband, Satellite TV, DVD player, board games and a "wet" room in which to dry wetsuits/boards/golf gear etc. The property is well located on circular road, offering good privacy away from the centre of the village whilst remaining close to all the local amenities and the beach. The acid test of any holiday is the "big" question and our answer is "Yes, we would stay here again".
