Have just returned from a lovely week in the adjoining apartment on this property. It was compact but very comfortable, bright and spacious and most importantly very clean. The only complaint I would... more |

We had the most wonderful week here with three families four mums and seven teenagers! Let me start with the house, which is extremely well kitted out. Everything works. The appliances, the shower and many details have been thoughtfully added. It is obviously a house which is enjoyed and maintained by the owners because you get a sense that there's a place for everything, even down to a large outbuilding to hang wetsuits. I felt reassured that I'd have everything I need. The wood burning stove was a revelation to me as I never realised how easy it would be to manage and how pleasant a focal point it was after an active day. The house is great but where it is situated is even better. The stunning scenery from the front of the house, as you eat breakfast on the small front porch is beautiful because you are surrounded by MOUNTAINS. I live in London and suppose I am deprived of these beautiful land masses. The air is clear and the stars are bright at night time.... you can see the sea from the dining room window. You get a real sense of being on a peninsula when out and about in the car as the sea scenes are all around you. If you are used to visiting National Trust properties in the UK, then you have to visit Glentennasig Wood, which is only about 15 minutes away by car. It has a wooden 'boardwalk' to enable people to walk close to the beautiful central lake and it is well worth a trip with a picnic. For teenagers (and everyone really), there's plenty of watersports which can be booked through Jamie Knox. My kids are not great watersport fans but they really enjoyed the water trampoline and some kayaking. On other days they enjoyed trawling shops in Dingle and in Tralee. They had an evening out at the cinema also which was a short distance away in Tralee. At the house, the trampoline was the 'hang-out' spot which was improved even more by using the kitchen window as a 'serving hatch' to take their chicken wraps freshly made from the kitchen to sit in the garden. Overall, the 'functionality' of the house impressed me – it is a wholesome country bungalow which is well-loved and it sits in the most idealic location. TOP TIP Make sure you do your homework with regard to all the potential places to visit – bring a laptop or consult the house owner so you don't miss out on 'hidden' gems – I only stayed a week but feel that there is much more to see and do in such a fine part of Ireland. |

This house is located in a beautiful quiet area of Kerry with views of the Sea and the mountains. It's an ideal spot to relax. You can take a nice walk to the Sea or through the hills. There is fantastic shopping and restaurants in nearby Dingle. The house itself is very well maintained, clean and cozy. A perfect place to escape the busy hustle and bustle of everyday life but close enough to Dingle and Tralee have some fun. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to all my friends and family. |
