Our holiday cottage was decorated throughout and completely refurbished in Spring 2009. It sleeps up to 6 and has 3 large bedrooms, 2 en-suite, a family bathroom, large lounge with a wood burner and spacious kitchen and dining room. Mains supply smoke detectors are fitted. Upstairs there are varnished original floorboards throughout.

Children are welcome to collect eggs and help feed the animals and visit the pet corner - if you visit at the right time of year you'll be able to see lambs, calves, chicks.

Nature walks on the farm are particularly good at the moment - several pairs of red kite have hatched this year, ducklings and gosling on the ponds, curlews and oyster catchers breeding. As well as walking you can also go mountain biking on the tracks, there is a secure garage for any bicycles if needed.

A well behaved dog is allowed in the kitchen only. Dogs are charged at £15 per week. Outside kennel is also available. A good housekeeping bond of £50 is payable and will be returned if the property had been kept in a tidy state, unfortunately we have had dog owners who have abused the trust of dogs only in the kitchen.

This cottage is ideally located for the Seven Stanes mountain bike trails. Walking on the Southern Upland Way, and the Dark Sky Observatory. Craigrobin is situated only a couple of miles from the Galloway Activity Centre, which caters for all age groups. Further along the Loch you will find Loch Ken Ski School, where you can learn to water ski, wakeboard, banana bout and many more fun activities.

I stayed at Craigrobin cottage for 3 nights during the October week with my mum and 5 year old son. Gill the owner responded quickly to my emails before the stay and the photographs of the property ma… More

It is disappointing to get a review like this, this lady booked and payed for two people her and her child, she then asked if she brought her mum would it be extra ,it should have been because of the extra cost of bedding etc but I didn't charge any extra ,I emailed her the morning of her arrival with directions ,she had my mobile no in case she needed anything. The cottage had been occupied for several months and heated continuously ,no one else has had any issues with it being cold,a basket of logs was included for the wood burner if desired, it's a pity she couldn't have said something when she was here instead of waiting till she was gone .
