Casa Giulia is a beautiful stone country style Tuscan house dating from the 1400s. It is splendidly decorated with old-world style and décor. Wood beams are visible throughout. The house is located in Mozzanella,(in the municipality of Castiglione di Garfagnana,-1 km.- surrounded by striking medieval walls and towers historical city) a charming and quaint village in the heart of Garfagnana, near a beautiful old church and mountain stream. It is within close proximity of Lake Villacollemandina and Lake Pontecosi- a great place to visit if you enjoy fishing. It is also near" Parco dell'Orecchiella" and" La Pania di Corfino" which are great places to go on long walks/excursions, hiking or mountain-biking.
The house has two floors. The main floor has a beautiful grand Tuscan kitchen with a large stone fireplace and dining area. This room leads to a pleasantly furnished family room with colour TV and another fireplace. The main floor also has a very large (4x4m)bathroom with a vintage clawfoot bathtub and small terrace providing picturesque views of the surrounding countryside.
On the second floor, there are two large bedrooms: one large master bedroom and a second bedroom with two single beds or double beds. On ground floor there are other two large bedrooms, sitting-room, bath-room with shower,. This is only rented with the old house in the event of a group requiring more accomodation. Outside there is a large private terrace of 40 square metres for al fresco dining, BBQ, table, chairs, sunloungers.

The Castiglione di Garfagnana / Mozzanella area
Castiglione di Garfagnane is a charming, historical city surrounded by striking medieval walls and towers and has plenty of great tavernas in which to sample the local cuisine, as well as good shopping and interesting sights. Mozzanella is quieter but equally as interesting, and is the perfect rural base to explore all the Tuscany has to offer. Every Thursday there is an outdoor market in the centre of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana where you can buy local products to prepare a delicious dinner at home.
