Home description

An initial signal of the wealth and beauty of this regions countryside is given by the rows of cypresses during the motorway journey to Poderaccio. In the distance you will see villas enclosed within natural parks and archaic villages established in the middle ages, settled amongst the endless hills and olive groves of a former age.

Poderaccio caters for 7 persons and the expectations that the properties first impressions give is ultimately for something very special. Here you will see a romantic boat floating; there is a small vineyard, shadowy olive trees and farmers rooted to their traditional work.

Once you arrive at Poderaccio, you will find yourself in a peaceful and hilly environment, free to enjoy the wide, dreamlike view of Monte Amiata.

There are warm and tasteful furnishings with first class fittings; creating a luxurious environment to share among friends. Everything has been sensitively attuned to create an inviting and relaxing feeling of warmth and well-being.

The partly modest and unpretentious arrangement harmonises and contrasts antique and modern furniture producing an exclusive living experience.

As you wander through the winter garden you come to the main garden in which there are large tables and benches. Beyond this is the swimming pool from which is an incredible view. Everywhere you look there are bushes, trees, small paths and fountains to be seen and enjoyed.

Poderaccio is wonderfully located for visiting Perugia, Cortona, Siena, Florence, Assisi, Arezzo, Pisa, Rome, Castiglione del Lago and many more.

Terre Vitae are happy to make an obligation free reservation for up to 7 days if required. Please feel free to contact us for any further queries, availability or your obligation free reservation.

The Umbria region

This secret Umbrian idyll is still very much unspoilt and offers excellent transport links to many of the delightful towns and Cities of the region. The location of Lago Trasimeno is excellent as surrounding area offers easy access to some of the most delightful places in Italy; Perugia (40 mins), Assisi (50 mins), Siena (1 hr), Arezzo (45 mins), Cortona (20 mins), Florence (1 Hr), Pisa (1 ¾ hrs) and Rome (2 ½ hrs).

Being large but shallow, Lake Trasimeno (at 128 square kilometres, the fourth largest lake in Italy) is a haven for a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. The lake is surrounded by a flat, alluvial plain, then a ring of gentle hills, where woodland alternatives with fields of sunflowers, maize, vineyards and olive groves. In fact, the economy of the area depends largely on agriculture, together with the local’s love of craftwork, notably the famous lace of Isola Maggiore, ceramics and articles in copper and wrought iron.

Castiglione del Lago / Panicale area

The Trasimeno area is part of Umbria, but culturally and geographically it straddles both Umbria and Southern Tuscany. It contains features of both, being an area where the borders between the two regions is intriguingly blurred, in a language and landscape as well as in the flavours of its cuisine and its traditions. Umbria is located in the exact centre of Italy, at a point which since ancient times has been a meeting point for routes for travellers from central Italy and northern Europe heading for Rome.

The area is not a busy transit area, however but the kind of place that people stumble upon by chance, then visit regularly. There is no need to stumble across it, though, as now you have your chance to discover this magical region.
