Home description
Podere Paciano is situated on the edge of the medieval village of Paciano, surrounded by fields and meadows. It is a traditionally wonderful old stone house with 2 large apartments. Each apartment has plenty of space to allow you to relax and feel at home.
Four traditional arches divide the very comfortably furnished apartment and the unique nature of the design makes this property unique. Apartment Bassa offers a kitchen with fridge, freezer, hob and dishwasher. The apartment also boasts three bathrooms , one with a bath and one with a shower.
A combination of terracotta and hard wood add to the charming character of this property. The property is located within large grounds where the barbecue invites you to practice your culinary skills and watch the children play in safety.
Both of the apartments offer high ceilings and are decorated with traditional antiques and furnishings. Terracotta floors, chestnut beams and historic pictures tell the story of medieval Umbria and the history underlying this magnificent property. The kitchens are fully equipped with oven, fridge, hob and dishwasher.
Apartment Alta and Apartment Bassa are both the same size however Bassa only has two bedrooms rather than four and the living room is divided by four traditional brick archways. Podere Paciano now has a brand new swimming pool that adds to the charming beauty of this traditional Umbrian farmhouse and offers a refreshing experience during the hot summer months.

The Umbria region
This secret Umbrian idyll is still very much unspoilt and offers excellent transport links to many of the delightful towns and Cities of the region. The location of Lago Trasimeno is excellent as surrounding area offers easy access to some of the most delightful places in Italy; Perugia (40 mins), Assisi (50 mins), Siena (1 hr), Arezzo (45 mins), Cortona (20 mins), Florence (1 Hr), Pisa (1 ¾ hrs) and Rome (2 ½ hrs).
Being large but shallow, Lake Trasimeno (at 128 square kilometres, the fourth largest lake in Italy) is a haven for a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. The lake is surrounded by a flat, alluvial plain, then a ring of gentle hills, where woodland alternatives with fields of sunflowers, maize, vineyards and olive groves. In fact, the economy of the area depends largely on agriculture, together with the local’s love of craftwork, notably the famous lace of Isola Maggiore, ceramics and articles in copper and wrought iron.
Castiglione del Lago / Paciano area
The Trasimeno area is part of Umbria, but culturally and geographically it straddles both Umbria and Southern Tuscany. It contains features of both, being an area where the borders between the two regions is intriguingly blurred, in a language and landscape as well as in the flavours of its cuisine and its traditions. Umbria is located in the exact centre of Italy, at a point which since ancient times has been a meeting point for routes for travellers from central Italy and northern Europe heading for Rome.
The area is not a busy transit area, however but the kind of place that people stumble upon by chance, then visit regularly. There is no need to stumble across it, though, as now you have your chance to discover this magical region.
